The building with the rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen is not so soundproof , e.g. a door to the kitchen would help.

Although confirmed breakfast was available (extra 15 euro pp), it was not possible to have breakfast in the guesthouse. Shops are far away, so this was a little inconveniant.

It’s a beautiful very quiet guesthouse with sight on a lake. Facilities are fine.

There was not a lot of space for our luggage and our movement. The accommodation was about 30 mins away from the nearest restaurant. The biggest issue I had was the set up of the rooms. Under one room they have 4 rooms and each of those rooms opens onto a larger room where they serve breakfast. That larger room was set up with tables and chairs. The guests in the other rooms sat themselves at the table outside of our room and held a card game. The volume of their conversation was distracting and kept up awake. Even if they had moved, the acoustics of the rooms allowed their voices to echo. Our room was also the first one when you walk through the door, so we heard every time the front door opened and closed, we also heard when other guests rested their hand upon the shared wall to take their shoes off (a strong request of the property host). On our side it sounded like they were knocking or thumping on the wall. Perhaps the other rooms were quieter, but ours was noisier than I prefer at night - which is why I arranged a room so far off the beaten track.

The room itself had a lot of light, even if it was small.

The room is quite small, it was tough fitting a bed for our baby in the room, we had to move the furniture. When we checked in, we were not told how to check out so at around 8o clock, I went to the reception to check out. To my surprise, I woke the employee up when I rang the bell and she was quite surprised I was checking out in person. It was awkward and I felt bad waking her up. I wish they'd have told me I didn't need to bring back my key at reception for the check out when I checked in.

The location is wonderful. Great view from our room. The shared bathroom was very clean and well equipped. I love animals and there was a cat that was by our window most of the time. I would think that if you don't like cats, you could be annoyed by that as we couldn't really open our window since the cat would just come in our room.

When we got there, the host greeted us like “hi ladies, you are late, you should have told us, I’ve been waiting, next time you’re late in the future you should let them know.” In my reservation I requested a later arrival for 10pm. We also tried calling two times about the late arrival and it went to voicemail both times. The daughter was showing us around the place. She looked very young to be showing strangers around (might be a norm in Iceland)

I liked how there were two bathrooms, one with shower and toilet, one with just toilet. It was cozy, had kitchen (didn’t use), and room was perfect for the night.

It was extremely loud in the rooms, you can hear every little noise from other rooms or the shared space. Earplugs essential for sleeping.

the owner’s daughter had extremely terrible attitude when I told her about the shower drainage issue. I sent message to the owner via booking.com messaging about the daughter’s bad attitude and shower drainage issue, the owner did not give any response at all. the room is extremely basic. wish the room would have the sink and garbage can.
