Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyYou need to rent towels for 1000isk additionaly, and you need to do this before your arrival to get one. I got lucky having my own towel brought to my travels, but I think the towel price is too much for one night.
Hafnarstraeti Hostel is is pretty good option if you wanna stay in the area around Akureyri for a few days and don't spend too much money. The equipment of the kitchen is marvelous (really big) and there is plenty of space to chill with newly made friends (cozy living room, tables ect). You can call or write the staff every time, if you need help with something. Check in was easy by codes and key cards. The beds are perfect for having private space, although they are not very silent, you may hear other guests alarms or something. Didn't bother me that much though. Bathrooms are modern and very clean.

United StatesThe outlets had low power charging so make sure to pack portable chargers!
It was an alright stay! Some capsules youll need a bit of them to play with and understand how they work, like you place in the card and if the light flickers just press the light buttons and they'll turn on also the TV I didn't understand but they work

UruguayFelt like I needed someone from the stuff to help me with the tv on my capsule that didn't work and to understand a few things but there was no one to help, only by email.
The capsules were really good, comfortable and secure. Same with the Kitchen and eating area. Very comfortable and had everything needed.

CanadaI did not receive my pre-check in email with access codes and it was difficult to find the hostel entrance- though this may information may have been in the intended email. Wondering if it’s because I booked through a third party.
Despite no staff being on site, responsive and helpful on the phone.

AustriaSome of the showers are not working, it wasn’t a problem since that time there were not many guests. But definitely it requires some maintenance.
The hostel is just in the middle of the city center. It was really comfortable and the common area were just amazing.

United KingdomOnly a little thing but the control panel buttons/lights are quite bright in the pod and I need darkness to sleep.. easily fixed with some strategically placed items of clothing 😂
The pods are REALLY cool! You’re basically sleeping in your own little spaceship, my nerdy inner child was ‘over the moon’ 😂 staying here, it’s worth a visit just for the experience! The beds are comfortable, the common spaces are lovely and well equipped. Plenty of bathrooms so I didn’t feel rushed showering like I usually do in hostels, the showers are hot and powerful. You can connect Netflix on your phone to the TV and listen through headphones (provided) so it’s not loud for other guests which I appreciated. Overall a great experience and I would recommend!

AustraliaThe beds get very hot with two people and the aircon wasn’t the best to try help with this as well as very squeaky and could hear whenever someone moved in a near by pod
The bathrooms were clean and spacious and the kitchen had good facilities with lots of storage for your own food. Dinning/common areas were a good size.

New ZealandOur designated capsule did not work when we arrived, and we had to wait a bit before someone came down to swap us to another one. We also had a bit of an issue finding the door, as you have to walk through a store to get into the hostel.
The capsules are easy to operate, roomy, and well-lit. The kitchen and bathroom facilities are modern and well-maintained, and the rooms were quiet but with a friendly atmosphere. The location in central Akureyri is also ideal. A very pleasant stay overall.

Puerto RicoThe only problem I found is that the place does not include towels and you have to pay for them. I paid for one amount and when I arrived there were 2 missing. I reported it, but according to the person, they put them all and 2 people were left without towels. An improvement they should make is to personally give the towels instead of leaving them inside the capsule because that way they would give them the correct amount. (They told us that they were already inside the capsules and there were 2 that did not have them)

IrelandI'm not a fan of sleeping in a capsule, but that's just about personal likes and dislikes.
The kitchen is very big and there's tea and coffee for free. There's everything you need there. Plenty of toilets, showers and sinks, all very clean. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. I was very skeptical about sleeping in a capsule, and I won't make a habit out of it, simply because I love fresh natural air and light, nevertheless it was a good experience overall for a very fair price. I'll definitely be back there.
