not that I didn't like but something to be aware of: 1. if you arrive on weekend night as us be aware that the street google takes you to could be blocked (I am guessing because of the crowds at the clubs and restaurants at night, the street is very busy) 2. There is really not much room for big suitcases (the lockers fit carry ons, but nothing larger). We left big suitcases in the car and only took carry-ons with us. Also be aware you will be carrying them upstairs and rolling them from the nearest public parking which is about 5 min walk. 3. You could hear a noise from the busy street in the capsules in the row closest to the window. but we still were able to fall asleep.

Great location, right in the middle of entertainment district. Public parking a few min walk (free after 6 pm and on weekends). Sparkling clean, very modern (our first time in capsule hotel and it was amazing experience!), many clean bathrooms, lockers for your suitcases. Spacious kitchen (walk-in refrigerator!) Great staff! Highly recommend, great value for the money and right in the middle of the city.

There is nowhere to put the luggage and you have to leave it outside the capsules which looks bad, the air conditioning in the capsules is not very good, And the showers are a bit old

I loved the pods! Compared to a normal hostel experience, it was great to have the privacy, temperature and light control, and noise muffling that the pod afforded. I completely overslept my alarm by a few hours, so I guess it was comfortable!

There was no standard locker inclusion with your pod (a first for any of these pod-type hostels that I've stayed at). There were some lockers but they required padlocks and could not be operated with your card. I therefore had no choice but to leave my backpack (with expensive camera inside) and jacket out all night on the open shelf areas outside my pod. The only secure storage was a small safe inside the pod itself. This is the main issue that keeps me from giving this property a much higher overall rating The control systems inside the pod (ie aircon/temperature control etc) did not seem to do what they were supposed to do One of the air-con fans inside my bed did not seem to be working at all. This resulted in my pod being too warm overnight The fitted sheet on the mattress was too small and kept coming away The only way to contact the staff (when they weren't around) was through a number that you had to dial using your own phone. Not much use therefore if you lose your phone or accidentally lock it inside your pod (which would be very possible by merely closing the pod door with your card still inside). A dedicated telephone for this purpose should have been provided at reception

I experienced some lack of air but maybe I did not find out of the air conditioning. it could also have been mental while sleeping in a plastic box. I opened the door a little and felt much better. I was on the upper "floor" and did not worry about security.

A new experience for me. Almost like sleeping in a space ship. the shower room was very clean and the shower exellent, the location good and a bakery across the street, I did not use the dining room but it looked clean and spacious. For my needs this night this was a good value for th prize. I can not imagine this for a longer stay than one night.

I had never stayed in a capsule hostel before, I would certainly do it again! Hafnarstræti Hostel staff were super welcoming and left the key in a secure box for me as I arrived late. The kitchen and living area was brilliant, all the pots, pans and cutlery I needed. Tea and coffee available and fridges to keep your cold food. The hostel was quiet and average age was approx 30+. Don't be put off that its a hostel there is no party here, everyone was very much focused on seeing the sights in Iceland and getting up early to start the next day! The capsules were amazing, super high tech. You control the lights and temperature, you even have a TV in there! There were plenty of bathrooms to use and each room had a toilet, shower and sink so you have your own privacy which is often unusual for a hostel.

Sleeping in the "pods" is a fun experience. I've stayed there with my student groups on three occasions. The couple who run the facility are delightful. Great space for eating meals, cooking, or just lounging about. Location is in the heart of the center of Akureyri.

First time in a capsule hostel and it was great. Didn't feel like a hostel at all because of the privacy in the capsules. Capsules are good sized, equipped with TV, can be locked etc. The whole hostel has a great layout, check in system, facilities and all. The kitchen is professional grade with a walk in fridge. Location is great. The owners know how to run a hostel.
