Self-check-in. Pretty basic hostel-style accommodation although private rooms not dorms. Shared kitchen and washing machine is a bonus. Very good value for the price and in an excellent location for a stop-over while exploring the Golden Circle - close to Geysir and Gullfoss falls

A bit old and smell of mould. Main light in our room didn’t work and also the door lock was broken so we couldn’t lock the room. Very uncomfortable bed and non existent pillows. No shower gel in the shower.

Very pretty surrounding landascapes. Faxifoss is just few minutes away by car. Big kitchen and bathrooms. Overall clean. Kind host who replies quickly!

The owner didn’t give us check-in instructions and did not answer my (numerous) calls while we were standing outside the house. It’s almost impossible to take a shower: the water is either boiling or freezing. There are two bathroom for all the rooms of the house but just one has the shower.

Location really convenient in the middle of Golden Circle. 20 min from Geyser and Gullfoss. The house is very warm and the kitchen well equipped. The room was cozy and clean.

Wifi and cell service are spotty, but it’s a very remote area, so that’s probably why. There are no close grocery stores or restaurants, so bring food! The upstairs bathroom has a clogged sink.

The price! It’s hard to find good deals in Iceland—even hostels are expensive—and it’s perfect for a quick stay. Everything was fairly clean, bed Iinens, towels all good.

There is only 1 shower for the whole house , which consists of 5 rooms. The shower is also hard to manage to find the right balance of hot water and cold water . It was either too cold or too hot even by touching an inch of the knob .

Single room I got (room no 6) was quite tiny and bed was right under the roof so there wasn't much space above you. Had to be careful when getting up. Lamp at the desk next to bed didn't work. Very weak mobile signal on room 6 side of the building.

House is located in the middle of nowhere in beautiful nature, right off the main road. It looked it was well maintained, nice lawn behind the house. It was about 15-20 mins drive to Geysir and also to Crater lake. Advice - do not book this place if you do not come by car, it's far from anywhere. Didn't meet the owners, but they messaged the instructions right after I booked the room. It was a great value and I think I would stay here again.

Staff not very accommodating: banged on the bathroom door while I was taking a shower demanding that I pay more if I stayed any longer. It was past the check-out time so I had overstayed but was taken aback by the rudeness. No lock to the house.

The guesthouse is overall cold, however we encountered high force winds during our stay. Unfortunately there seemed to be a problem with the shower’s water temperature regulation.

This property has a good location, well equipped kitchen, and very comfortable and well equipped rooms. Moreover although we encountered a small mishap with the booking, the host promptly came and sorted out the matter.

Only one shower for 11 people. The only communal space is the kitchen. If you have one of the 5 small rooms, the accommodation would be really cramped and only suitable for one night.

We had the one large room in the property, which was great for us, but the The other 5 rooms are very small .... just a bed and nowhere to sit or put your luggage. The Czech cleaner was great fun and super friendly. We enjoyed chatting to her. For Iceland, the price is low, but the facilities reflect this.

The entrance through the kitchen was awkward for us on arrival with four guests at the kitchen table, one or two of which had to move to allow us to get in and out with our luggage. The room was quite cold when we arrived and took a little while to warm up after adjusting the thermostat. The stairs to the second floor are more narrow and steep than usual. The door to the shared bathroom on the second floor had a noticeable gap on the latching side, which was right next to the top of the stairway. This made it uncomfortable to sit on the toilet, wondering if anyone might be use the stairs before you were finished sitting there. However, all of these shortcomings were tolerable in consideration of the lower price for a bed for the night.

The price and location were great for our needs.

key was supposed to be in the lock but wasn’t, contacted owner but only got answer late evening, again “key should be in the door lock” but wasn’t. House was fully booked, so I put a large bag in front of the door at night. Bathroom was so outdated that we skipped taking showers…
