A great place to stay when visiting the Golden Circle. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel's decor is lovely and has a historic charm.

We were in the 3 bed apartment which was perfect for our family, felt more like our own private apartment/air bnb but with the bonus of the hostel restaurant and communal areas to use. Great views out of every window It’s a little tired in some areas but good for hostel standards, most importantly it’s warm, comfortable and kitchen has all you need to self cater (minus microwave)

Breakfast was very good and not too expensive. Loved all the decorations and atmosphere there. The view over the lake is insane!!!

Game room needs repair- specifically pool table and dart boards. Breakfast could last a little longer than 0930, maybe 10 for all the late wakers? Otherwise a very pleasant stay. Great place!

This space is just so gorgeous. I'm a sucker for a historic location, and the property included so many lovely touches as an homage to its former life. The location was PERFECT (loved that we got a discount at Fontana down the road), and everything was comfortable and delightful.

The property was great! It had the fun community space and dining which was great in the evening before bed. The bedroom was wonderful. We stayed in the exclusive rooms with a private bathroom which was all very spacious and comfortable.

It could be noisy if too many guests walking across the hotel corridors. Showers only available at the underground level (not very handy if the guest’s room is located on the 2nd floor).

Warm, clean room with very comfortable beds. Breakfast at extra cost but complete, more than enough to have a good start of the day. Very friendly receptionist and staff, in general.

The only thing is that with the shared bathrooms, and people coming and going, the night time tend to be a little noisy. But, I think it's probably not much different than a normal hotel As for the location, it was really easy to get to several waterfalls, the only downside is that Reykjavik is so far from there. I was only there for 2 nights, so I would recommend staying here while you are visiting the park and nearby areas. I am looking forward to my next visit already

Room - it's modest but it had everything i needed. The bed was comfortable, the room was warm and the bathroom was clean. I had a great view from the room to the outside as it was the last room in the hall. Breakfast, lunch, dinner - I had all the meals there as I stayed within the park for my outings and it was easy to just come back and have my meals there as I passed it between locations. The meals were all excellent. I am vegetarian and the staff was super accommodating to provide just fantastic meals. I found all the areas to be clean even though the first night was crowded

We had a great night in Laugarvtan! Easy and smooth check-in, parking out front, standard room with nice decor. The shared facilities were clean and tidy. It had a good atmosphere and feel to it. Lots of history and art to look at throughout. Not to mention the geothermal baths with discount just down the road.

Kitchen equipment could have been better - crockery and utensils - but it was sufficient. Only one pillow each!

Super quirky and fun apartment. Lots of space, everything you need to cook basic meals. Very clean. Walking distance to Fontana pools and incredible views over the lake. Easy access to other sights within short driving distance.

It doesn’t have a kitchen to make your own food so not a standard guesthouse. Very few bathrooms, we were on the 3rd floor and had to go down to the 2nd floor many times for showers and use the bathroom.

Relatively new and very well kept. The rooms and building are beautiful.

No where to dry clothes, coats and boots. Staff kindly put our coats in their laundry room, but some extra hanging and radiators would be really useful
