Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeI'm not the biggest fan of a shared shower room, but it's the highlands, and this is as luxurious as it gets!! :) (Ample hot water :))
It has a fantastic location along the F208, just an hour from Ring Road 1 and another hour to Landmannalaugar. The cabins are nice and well-spaced apart, snug and warm for those cold Icelandic nights. There is a nice waterfall just a 10-minute walk away from the cabin, too! The location was peaceful and easy to get to, and the roads were smooth for an F-road (Driving from the south). I highly recommend stopping over here and exploring the Icelandic highlands instead of the usual stops along Highway 1

GermanyPrice was too high for the quality of the housing. Location is great, but it is not enough.
The location is amazing. The road to get there is a nightmare, get ready for that. The house is pretty small. It is ok, but the price is insane in the end.

NetherlandsThe pricing is quite steep.
Cozy cabin at a small campsite just at the edge of Fjallaback national park. Very friendly and helpfull staff. The cabin is really small, but we (family of four) loved our stay here in the middle of nature. From the cabin, it's a 10 minute walk to a nice waterfall. If you have the proper car, be sure to drive F208 and F235, two of the most beautiful (and at times challenging) roads in Iceland.

United StatesThe main thing is the price and the road. If you don't have an off-road vehicle, it's really difficult to get to. Itll be long and very bumpy regardless. The cabin was cramped for 4 people, but it was clearly well built. I think if you go with 2 people, it would be perfect sized.
The scenery, the friendly staff, and the dog. Cabin was well built and prepared for us. If you're into cabins and going off the beaten path, this is your jam.

IsraelThere was only one shower for the whole site and it was not in good shape. There were only cold (actually freezing) water in the cabins. The kitchen in the cabin is not really useful for actual cooking. The road to this place is long and bumpy and it takes about 40 minutes drive from the main road.
A beautiful and peaceful place in the middle of nowhere. The owner was very nice and attentive. The main kitchen (which the owner nicely allowed us to use) was very well equipped. The cabins ware very clean and cozy. Nice waterfall and canyon nearby.

Czech RepublicThe cabin is nice and cozy. Unfortunately, there is no hot water, and we were quite cold at night. The price seems a bit excessive to me; we've stayed in better accommodations for a lower price. But otherwise, everything was fine. The location and nature are beautiful. The road is about 15 km on a bad road, but it’s still manageable with a Duster car, and there is no river crossing. There’s a gas stove in the kitchenette, and you have to ventilate while cooking, which isn’t very comfortable.

LatviaThe cottage has everything necessary for comfortable stay. Fully equipped kitchen, sitting place, WC. The shower is shared. There is a stunning view of waterfall just 20 m behind the cottage. Many thanks to Aurora for useful advises concerning our future trip ;-) and also we would thank the women on river cross (unfortunately don't know her name), but she was both so strict and so welcoming, that we remembered her all our journey. The Iceland can be proud of such a hospitable citizens. Many, many thanks.

United StatesThe cabin was so nice! Great amount of space to move around and comfy beds. Everyone there was so kind and helpful with suggestions on what to do before we hit the road again. Would definitely recommend to someone looking to spend quality time in the highlands.

FinlandIt’s not ok that there is no any warning that the hotel is off road. And that you need to transit an F road. We needed a mountain car for that. We asked if it would be possible to have some shuttle service. And the answer was a blunt no. We felt scammed.

SingaporeNothing. Perhaps the only thing would be the journey up to the place itself, driving on the off-roads. But it is more on the comfortability of the driver. It is otherwise quite a normal drive for the locals.
Like how secluded and special the place is. The fact that it is close to a nameless waterfall. The lava maze that leads up to the waterfall. We have our own cabin, although the space is a bit tight with limited room to move about, the place is comfortable. The host was exceptionally friendly and shared a lot about the space, and about Iceland.

ItalyNothing!
It's literally like being in the Lord of the rings 😁 amazing road trip to reach the place in the middle of the nowhere, a small but cozy and warm cabin, yes its a bit cold and the showers are "outside" the cabin, in another small cabin, but that wasn't a big issue if you can adapt a little bit! There's also an amazing waterfall and a hike you can do in one of the most beautifull places we have ever been! The owner was really nice!!!
