Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Hostel located right in the city center with a well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds and super clean bathrooms: everything you are looking forward while enjoying a trip in Iceland :) Self check procedures super clear and quick. Recommended to anyone for a 1 or 2 nights stay.

Self check in is a little confusing, they assign you a bed number in ( ) after the room number. It would be clearer to use the term 'bed number' in the message.
Good location near downtown and tour bus stops, hot showers, and sizeable kitchen and common room.

The water kind of smells a bit.

There are only three showers on one floor with 27 rooms, with up to four people per room, and only five toilets - even though the hostel was obviously not fully booked we had to wait our turn for quite a while a few times. I don’t want to know how that works out when it’s actually full!
Beds are comfy, plenty of space. Public pool with hot pools is just next door!!

Locking us out of the kitchen, where we had our food all.prepared for breakfast and our journey home , very upset about this, there was no mention of them.closing the kitchen. Food is not cheap and we had very little money left. Also one very rude member of staff on our last day treated us like we were breaking in, he was very wired and later told me hed had no sleep, it certainly put a little dampener on our stay at the end.
Location was perfect, our room had view of church, kitchen was excellent( though they closed it and as we left at 6 am we couldn't get our food for our journey home) one member of staff was friendly , felt safe , good code system , bedroom was always warm don't think the radiators were ever off. All.in all I would recommend this hostel.

The top bunk bed wasn’t super comfortable as it was moist when you turn around. Moreover, they put me on the top bed but the other one stayed empty…

It’s 100% excellent if there’s tissue in the kitchen 😊
It’s the first tíme I am in B47 with 9 days and I can’t complain anything here. The shower is very nice and clean. The kitchen is perfect, the bus stop is behind you, the swimming pool next to you. Wow…it’s amazing ❤️and I would recommend you, let book with b47 if you drop off Reykjavík and contact reception through booking app before you come hostel if you don’t get entrance code and room code yet😊

Nice, big hostel in the center of Reykjavik. Parking for free for the customers, entrance with a pin, rooms big enough, beds comfortable. Watch out for the heaters, as when you turn it on to the fullest, the room gets super warm super quickly :D Kitchens were ok-ish, the main kitchen was being closed overnight to avoid heavy smells when ppl are sleeping. In overall good price in terms of the location.

The hostel staff were generally great, except for one issue with the receptionist. She played her music loudly on speaker phone in the guest kitchen, which was quite disruptive. Additionally, she invited outsiders to join her for a small gathering in the kitchen, and some of them lingered near our room, making us feel uncomfortable and unsafe. This behavior really detracted from an otherwise pleasant stay.
This hostel offers a great car park and a well-equipped kitchen. The location is excellent, with the city center just a 10-minute walk away. It's very convenient for exploring the area on foot.
