The property is located in a central strategic point, very close to the downtown main road nearby to may restaurants and departing point for tours.Everything that is needed is available and the staff is very kind.

Great location close to everything, friendly and helpful staff who always try to help with anything. Its also really clean! Free coffee in the mornings plus oat milk, nice communal areas, everything you could need for cooking. Saw the northern lights a few times out our bedroom window really bright. Would strongly recommend a stay here.

It’s a very busy hostel, very large tour groups arriving at all sorts of times and using the kitchen so you can use anything in there. This is normal in hostels I guess but just something to keep in mind.

The hostel was the perfect location close to shops and walking distance from downtown Reykjavik. The beds were comfortable and it was very warm inside. The showers & toilets are shared with other guests, but are private rooms which was nice. There is also a restaurant by reception which has candles lit at night so it’s very lovely.

The matresses were very dirty (the sheets clean, but you could see through). Also, the hostel is situated in a building that initially in the 50s served as a hospital… and it just has this strange vibe. It has nothing to do with how the hostel is run, but we just didn’t feel good in there, hospitals bring me generally bad feelings. I am sorry for this review, I just feel like I needed to be honest. However, given the high prices in Reykjavik, it was a reasonable option for us.

We booked the hostel due to fact that they serve breakfast and it was also confirmed when booked in June. However the day before our arrival (actually due to the flight delay it was around 05 AM), we got information that there is a big group and the breakfast is not possible. The room had no windows (which is possible in hostel, but it is not very comfortable). Cleanliness in common kitchen in the hostel could be better.

The location is great, only a few minutes from the church and from the city center. There is also a swimming pool next to the hostel.

Unfortunately, there has been a fire alarm in the night. However, obviously there was no fire … of course, this can happen BUT it is not acceptable how the hotel is prepared for those emergency situations… emergency exits were blocked and closed. There has been no information by any personal of the hotel nor it has been able to access the reception. Guests wandered confused around in the hotel…

There is no soundproofing, I can occasionally hear the sound of doors opening and closing in other rooms.

It's only a 5-minute walk from the church in the city center. There are hot springs nearby.

Extremly uncomfortable beds, only a very small part of the window could be opened, stuffy and hot room, dirty bedsheet, people shouting, banging doors and singing at 3-4am, way too little bathrooms, no space in the fridge

Don't stay in this hostel! I lost 2 phones while sleeping in my room at this hostel! It was a private room. Please avoid at all cost. If you concern about your security and personal belongings, avoid staying here. The rooms have no keys and they only give you passcode at check-in where anyone who knows can access to the room and see you enter the passcode since the keypad is way right up the door. You cannot enter the code secretly. Only the owner's wife was concern and helped call the police and the security company but that was all. I requested to look at CCTV but they denied it and said the one they had at the hostel was down. They said they could not access to the one with the security company. Only the company can check and tell what was going on. They told me to make a police report so the police can track my phones but none of that happened. I lodged the report but that was it. The police said they cannot do anything about it. If there's anything they will email me which I highly doubt it. I stayed at the hostel for 2 nights from 2-4 October 2023. I lost the phones on the second night on 3 October 2023 around midnight while sleeping. If you can, please avoid staying here for your security. It's not worth it. You're welcome.

Staff seemed bothered whenever they were asked about something. Felt anxious to ask them and inquire about certain things. No privacy curtains.
