Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FrancePrices are getting so high! Please, try to be a place for everyone, as it used to be, a social hostel! That's your specificity in Reykjavik with local people, international travellers, wealthy ones and humble adventures.
The atmosphere is exceptional. The staff always very helpful and all the facilities very convenient. Mixity within the clients is a strength to meet new cultures and broaden ones horizon.

United StatesI was trying to get some sleep in a private room after transatlantic flight with no luck. idk what was it, rehearsal or concerts itself but it was super loud that a lamp on a nightstand was jingling from the bass downstairs. every time and then some large groups of people were departing and were very loud under my window, despite the host’s ask not to be noisy. I know Reykjavik is expensive but for total of $200, I think I could’ve found less noisy place to take some rest.
nice cozy place! nice bar downstairs. good location.

United StatesThe kitchen had a lot of leftover food in fridge that didn't get removed (not the fault of staff). Sometimes bathrooms and showers were messy.
The option of reasonably priced food, good service, friendly personnel, helpful attitude for all questions asked, ease of coming and going. many friendly folk also staying here. loved the lounge and good musicians.

United KingdomIts hard because Iceland is expensive and this Hostel accommodated a lot of people but the showers were always in use, the bins were constantly over flowing and everything was a bit grimy. But as I said it was a lot of people in small space.
The bar downstairs was nice and had decently priced food and drink.

ItalyBooked my stay there for 8 days. Reception was available at any time of the day. You can find lot of lounge room with cozy couches in every floor. there where two kitchen in each floor where you could cook your meal and store your food there. I stayed in a room of 6. The room wasn't really big but it was enough to move around. not every bed had a electric outlet near by, there where two near the lockers and 1 near the door. The rooms are provided with one locker for each bed, big enough to store even a trolley bag (mine was 55x40x23 cm at it fit perfectly). Bathrooms and showers where outside the rooms. There are both private shower and shared shower (still divided between man and women). For the first night I used the private shower. It was quite dirty (I think it is because lot of people are not comfortable using shared shower so most of them would use the private one). the rest of the nights I used shared shower and they where more clean. Both shower have mirrors, hairdryer and wall hangers.

SingaporeCan get a little noisy at times, but no big deal (earplugs provided). Like any hostel, actual experience depends on the luck of the draw with your roommates

United Statesthere isn’t a quiet place to work. You could sit in the “living rooms “ of floor 2nd or 3rd but that’s about it. the lighting isn’t great either
The staff and incredibly helpful, they clean every day, hence, the restrooms remain clean despite the amount of people using them. it was my first time in a dorm with 42 people and I felt safe, and comfortable all the time :) the location and facilities are also great. a very social hostel so you’ll definitely make friends here !!

United StatesMy room of 6 girls was very hot at night. I didn’t mind having a top bunk but the only problem was not having an outlet or way to charge my phone up on top. My phone had to charge on the floor which made it worrisome I wouldn’t hear my alarm to wake up from my phone.
Everything was great! Hostel was so cool! Food was good, everyone was nice. I didn’t use all the facilities, but everything seemed great & easy.
