Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWe had a bunk bed that squeaked every time you would move. Even if it was just to move your leg.
I loved the communal breakfast and hangout area. Very inviting. Rooms were nice. Staff was great. Always there to help.

United StatesThe doors slamming at all hours of the night was a little annoying. The breakfast was expensive for what it was.
Easy to get to and centrally located for walking to shops and restaurants. The room was a decent size and comfortable. The bathrooms were easy to access.

AustraliaThe lockers provided weren’t really big enough to store luggage and didn’t seem to be able to be locked. Outside was also a little messy with lots of broken glass
Great price and good facilities for cooking and preparing food. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Beds were also very comfortable

SlovakiaI love the cover on beds from side, sleeping is easier now! Always admiring the stuff, especially on the bar, sending greetings to a guy, who asked me about bad habits I have, just because of the song playing. Really cozy talks and hostel as well, always returning when needed.

United StatesSeemed like it was in a sketchy area with abandoned looking buildings next door and broken glass everywhere outside. We heard someone throwing glass bottles on the ground outside during the evening. On the pricier side for a hostel.
Very warm and inviting atmosphere, cozy. Well decorated. Lots of bathrooms and had no issue accessing one of the private showers. Water was hot. Bed was very comfortable.

United KingdomNothing. All was good.
Near the centre and the sea. I was in the 42 bed dorm, not as bad as it sounds as it's divided into sections. I slept well. Decent kitchen and lounges. Several bathrooms, all clean. I enjoyed my stay here. Lovely outdoor space especially as it was a hot day!!

United StatesI felt the bathrooms could have been more often tended to. I understand there are a lot of people going and coming but these people are not all concerned with the cleanliness of the place. I felt the food was expensive. Also, did not like the loud music on some nights. I needed to get up at 5 and they played until 10ish.
Very accessible to bathroom and kitchen areas. The grocery store is VERY close by.

AustriaIt's quite a busy place with hundreds of beds, so if you are looking for a quiet place this is not the right place. In the evening you could sometimes hear the noise from the bar or people moving in the hallway (ear plugs are freely available though!). Since many people used them, the showers were sometimes a bit messy. Kitchen was well equipped but some things were missing, e.g. scissors, more bowls, spare dish soap etc.
Nice hostel close to the city center including a bar/restaurant and an event location, with many people - not just hostel guests - frequenting them. Comfortable shared areas and well equipped kitchen. Stickers and pens for labeling your food were available in the kitchens. Ear plugs were freely available at the reception. There were plenty of toilets and showers available. The rooms were nicely equipped with lockers (locks can be bought at the reception) and a small desk. During my second stay in a 16-bed room there even were some comfortable couches!

SpainExpensive, to be an hostel
It's a classic backpacker hostel, very well situated, near a supermarket, to the sea and few minutes from center town. I slept in mixed dormitory. All kind of servics are available; it's possible to cook there.

BrazilI feel that the rooms have only a small window, and it's necessary more fresh air in the rooms.

PortugalAlso taking in account we are in Iceland and everything is overpriced, I found quite exaggerated paying 90€ to stay in a room with other 20 beds. As per my memory it was the most numerous hostel room I’ve ever been, and in the same Iceland I payed less or the same amount to stay in private rooms.
The Kex Hostel is in a good position near the port and some of the main attractions of the city. Its location inside the same building with a bar makes you feeling at the center of the city nightlife.

United StatesThe front of the building was not pleasing to the eye. The building (appeared abandoned) next door had trash and garbage out front. Realizing KEX didn't have responsibility for their maintenance it was a disgusting eyesore. Would have taken 30 minutes to clean up the trash.
Location was close to city center and right on the water. Room was shared with 5 others. Personal locker available. Kitchen facilities were clean and areas for storage was available. Staff were friendly and helpful. Prices for food and breakfast were reasonable considering it was Iceland.
