Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesVery clean and friendly owners! They also had a nice restaurant! My favorite was an area of handmade wool items from local people and the wool was from local sheep. Bought a beautiful Icelandic sweater!!

BrazilWe really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, and there wasn’t anything we didn’t like, but we wanted to highlight a few things: - While some previous reviews mentioned that the road to the hotel was terrible, we found it manageable. That said, it’s definitely better if you’re driving a 4x4, just to be able to move faster. - The hotel is a bit far from the nearest city, so if you’re not planning to have dinner there, make sure to find a place to eat beforehand as there aren't options and restaurants close early.
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We appreciated the dinner options offered after our long drive - there were different dishes available, each catering to various price ranges, which was great. The hotel was very clean, and although the bathrooms are shared, we never had any issues with waiting, were always tidy and well-maintained. The beds were extremely comfortable, ensuring we had a restful night. The location is fantastic if you’re planning to visit Godafoss or Aldeyjarfoss, as both are very close. Breakfast was outstanding, with a great selection that set us up perfectly for the day ahead. Overall, we had a very positive experience and would recommend it, especially for those looking for a peaceful stay close to some of Iceland’s stunning waterfalls!

United StatesThis was our first trip to Iceland, and we did not realize how far out on a dirt road this place is. It’s beautiful, but I would recommend getting there in the daytime if possible
Facilities were very comfortable and clean. Staff was nice and helpful, and the breakfast was great. Would definitely stay again and recommend others to as well!

United States Minor Outlying IslandsDidn’t know they had dinner as well. Should add that to the list of amenities, with such few food options in the area would’ve been nice to know.

NetherlandsIt used to be a boarding school for kids in earlier times and now is run as a guesthouse. The restaurant had a long menu that included veg lasagna, burgers, soup etc. I had a veg burger that was made with potatos, beans, mushrooms. My husband had lamb steak. Everything tasted delicious.

SingaporeIt would be good to have more hanging racks in the room. Needs 1 hour to get to Lake Myvatn attractions so do take into account the driving times if you are using this guesthouse as a base.
Guesthouse is in the secluded Bárdardalur valley which you get to by driving 15min along the gravel road near Godafoss. The surroundings were very lovely and peaceful. Our double-room with attached bath was located in a separate building from the main, with a small sitting area/lobby with tea/coffee. Very nice bathroom with great amenities. Breakfast was a generous spread and constantly being refilled. Best of all, the location was quite near the amazing but remote Alderjarfoss which you need to drive along F26 (requires 4x4). Glad we went there!

United KingdomIt looked that there were 3 bathrooms in all, plus some separate toilets near to reception - enough for the bedrooms, but not really for the campers as well - would be beneficial (for them as well as you have to take you outdoor shoes off whenever you enter the building) if they had their own facilities. I suspect that where there are a lot of campers that this becomes a bigger issue.
Our room was comfortable and clean with a table & large dresser. We had a nearly toilet / shower room which was also shared with other guests and campers. There was a microwave and fridge/freezer and a table area, so you could bring a microwaveable meal in to eat. We ate in the restaurant - the food was great & service good. Also there were tea & coffee & kettles provided. The included breakfast was plentiful & varied. There was a small craft gift shop. The location was about a twenty minute drive down a gravel road from Gullfoss waterfall - try to get there at the beginning or end of the day when it is less busy!
