View of the cemetery unsettled my friends, we travelled in June so it was bright all day, but I imagine during the winter months it can get a bit creepy. The lock on the bathroom door was a bit finicky, my friend panicked because she couldn’t get out.

Nice porch to watch sunset on, easy check in. The area near the apartment is lovely.

The stairs to second floor were many but we knew this in advance.

The bathroom was huge with a large claw foot tub. The bedroom had a TV, and microwave. Only couple minute drive to good restaurant.

No human interaction, but it was winter and there was a storm with closed roads so it wasn't that suprising. Also the restaurant was closed.

I usually stay at the guesthouse but this time I tried the Apartments which is located a bit higher up. The place was empty so it was awesome! The room was big, with a very spacious bathroom with a real bath! Not very practical but it was fun :) The bed was big and comfy and the whole place/location is really quiet. The view was also nice: residential street with only a few houses and the sea on one side, the mountains on the other side. Although there was no common area where you can cook and eat, I appreciated to complimentary tea/coffee and the fact that there was a individual fridge and a boiler in the room, allowing for some (very) minimal meals. It's not an issue, there are a few restaurants in Blönduós. The road were closed the next day but the owner allowed to stay until a few hours after the checkout time without extra, that was a nice gesture.

There were no extra pillows or blankets. There was a threatening and unpleasant sign on the wall about all kind of additional charges if the apartment wasn't kept clean.

The screens on the windows are not secured so many flies enter. We arranged the netting on the windows to cover better and that did help.

Very spacious! We liked the little balcony, big windows, good blackout drapes for summer nights. The hosts, although we didn't meet them were always pleasant and quick to respond if we messaged them.

WiFi didn't work. I believe the hosts will have been aware of this before my stay as someone had previously wrote on the A4 page giving the password, that the WiFi didn't work. Next to a graveyard, but once I settled in that didn't bother me. Not much going on in the town.

Lots of space, warm and quiet and comfortable. Good facilities.

In an ideal world, the shower would have been more spacious, but given the overall comfort, spaciousness and surroundings, it’s a minor point.

First self-catering stop on a trip round the E1, and set a standard that was hard to beat. The apartment was very spacious (the largest we stayed in), well appointed and had marvellous views over Blönduós and surrounding areas (the best views we had at our various stopping points). Cooking facilities were good. A really good start to our journey, which set standards later stops rarely met.
