Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room was very spacious, the bathroom super new and very nice the possibility to get free coffee/tea for breakfast. The staff was also very nice

Rooms only have one chair. Would be nice to have a desk or anything to put your things on.
Very kind and helpfull staff. Unfortmately the restaurant was closed but the gave us three nearby nice options to get dinner. The hotel offers free coffee and tea and there is a nice dining area where you can use their microwave and dishes for dinner.

It could be a little cleaner in some areas but overall not a drama! No hair dryer in the rooms.
Beautiful lake view,comfortable beds,nice common area. The manager ist really nice. There was a minor problem with my room and he was quick on his feet to solve the problem-thanks again for that!

Could do with a chair or armchair in room and a dressing table as our room was sparsely furnished - but very clean.
Lovely and simple and clean hostel with comfortable beds at reasonable price. Good breakfast and very convenient for evening meal at the end of a busy day visiting Golden Circle sites. Dinner was beautifully presented.

A good sized table/desk within the room (to put a notebook/tablet and other gear) would have made the room perfect for me.
The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The food in the restaurant(Muninn, within the hotel) was very delicious and good value for money.

The room was small for the 5 of us. No space to open the luggages and no space to put our staff. Also the bathroom was very small for a room that should fit 5 people. Our room was on the back of the building with a view on the small car parc.
Nice location. Nice and helpful host that was supportive in get our clothes dry! Good location to spend couple of days to explore and to practice some sports. Good brekfast.

We had booked 2 rooms for our party of 5. Whilst the triple room exceeded expectations the twin room was on the ground floor with a view of the trees.
The lake view from our triple room was amazing. The room was clean and bright with a good ensuite. There was wifi. The best thing was the on site bar and restaurant where our dinner was excellent. There was free tea and coffee available downstairs including specialist tea which I usually can only get online!

Shauer has a design issue - when you stand under water it splaches on the flour constantly. Sink is too small.

People were loud early in the morning in the hallways, doors close loudly. There are a lot of bugs next to the freshwater lakes now, so it was not as enjoyable to be outside as we were hoping.
The staff worked very hard! They helped us get laundry done, and were available at anytime to help, even when my daughter got stung/bit by something. Cute school playground a few mins away

I think we were unlucky with our room, perhaps they were fully booked. We were in the basement and the window looked out onto their storage area. Ask for a room on the first or second floor. Our shower leaked badly and flooded the bedroom but the staff were very responsive to this.
Great location. Good sized family room with huge bathroom. Lovely ‘lounge’ area where guests could help themselves to coffee/tea and board games. Comfortable beds. Clean. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but did enjoy drinks at the bar.
