Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomDon't be expecting much sleep on a Saturday night! Not too surprised given the location. At least it was fun to listen to.
The room definitely had a view. Very spacious studio apartment with good facilities. Location perfect and we felt in the thick of all the bustle of Reykjavik's centre.

United StatesThe oven was missing a knobs so we could not use it. But it was only a slight drawback for a 5 year old and some chicken nuggets.
Nice size room and easy to get to. The view was a patio of a bar so not spectacular. But you could see the bell tower on the church so that was amazing.

United StatesWe noticed some street noise, but not enough to keep us awake. We felt the bathroom could use more shampoo and soap.
The apartment was fine. We only stayed one night. The room was spacious and centrally located in the older section of the city, close to the parking garage, restaurants, shops, event theatre, and old church. It has a nice view of the water and mountains. We were not used to having daylight so late in the evening, but the blinds blocked out the light very well. The couch was comfortable. The kitchen seemed well stocked, although we did not really do any cooking.

United KingdomGiven these apartments are in the centre of town and have shops, cafe's and bars on the ground floor it is not surprising there is noise - almost to be expected. However one of the bars on the ground floor (which is actually a book shop, come cafe, come bar) does have live music every night and it is loud, it reverberates throughout the building and we were lucky to be moved to the 5th floor where it was still audible but not a major distraction. Pity about this because the staff were doing their best and are trying to get things changed.
Good location in town and a great view from our room - we were on the top floor so not sure about a great view from all levels. Staff were friendly and accommodating moving our room swiftly when I complained about the noise coming from a bar next door.

IrelandIt is impossible to sleep as it is so noisy in the street until 5am! Not enough glasses and cutlery for all the guests. The 3 beds rooms are very tiny for 3 people.

NorwayA lot of music/noise on Friday and Saturday night from a bar next door. Not a big deal though, one can expect this when staying in the centre of town :)

SwedenThe location makes it tricky.. On one hand it is a fantastic location if you are traveling alone or in a group. However, if you have a toddler, it may be a little too noisy at times. The live band music can be heard very clearly in the room. Of course, the band doesn't play till too late.
Staff at reception is very polite and helpful. They greeted us with a smile and were very helpful. We were allowed to leave our bags since we arrived early in the morning and the express checkout process was very convenient as well.

United KingdomWe had an early morning flight to catch and so my partner and I hoped to catch a little afternoon nap, however the loud banging from the service lift door used to access the apartment, unfortunately put a stop to that. (At night, this was used a lot less and wasn’t so much of a problem). You can hear the busy nightlife at the weekend but because the hotel is in such a good location, it’s just one of those things.
The staff here were very helpful and friendly. We had booked a studio apartment, but on arrival we were upgraded due to a double booking. The room we got was a humongous suite with a kitchen, dining room and bedroom areas . It was very clean and well equipped. So if you’re after a quiet night away, probably not your best option. But if your going to be out and about and want to be amongst it all, it’s a great hotel. They also have a jacuzzi and saunas, we didn’t have time to use them, unfortunately. The hotel is on one of Reykjaviks main streets so you are really well based to enjoy the bars and restaurants of the city, and within walking distance of a lot of attractions. When we come back to Reykjavik, we would definitely look at staying here again.

United StatesThe room was right above a very noisy part of downtown. Lots of live music and nightlife until about 3am each night (on weeknights). I understand this is something the property doesn't have control over, but there was no warning of it and the price was not reflective of that type of disruption. We all had a hard time sleeping.
Nice to be downtown and I was able to book last minute during a major storm so it was a huge relief to have the opportunity to stay there.

United StatesNoisy. The downside of being close to everything is that you also hear everything!!! there is a bar downstairs and people are loud. We had to ask for earplugs at reception to sleep on the weekend.
Location! super short walking distance to Rainbow street, Hallgrimska Church, bus stop for tours, bars, coffee shops, restaurants and shopping. Apartment is spacious and clean, nice small kitchen that is well equipped with dishes and everything you may need for your stay. Building is secure and there is someone at reception most of the time.

United KingdomThe entrance is a single doorway between stores on the high street, and it took me a couple of attempts to find it! This is a lively area with great bars and live music every night. If you are a light sleeper and don't enjoy the buzz of a central location this is probably not the place for you.
The apartment was in a great location at the heart of the city, with bustling shops, cafes and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable. The coffee-making facilities in the lobby were free and the coffee was great. Our apartment had a private bathroom across the hall, which worked fine for us.

United KingdomA lot of the lights didn’t work, which made the room a little dark. Also, there’s a rooftop jacuzzi which the staff never mentioned when checking in - this means we didn’t get to use it.
Nice enough hotel, with large rooms. Small kitchenette was useful. There is a rooftop jacuzzi but we didn’t know that until the day we left (staff didn’t tell us).
