Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesI didn't feel the safest. There was no receptionist, and you didn't have a designated room. Instead, you had to go behind the desk and pick a random key for a random room based on what you booked. There were no lights on the entire place, and it didn't feel homey or comfortable. The walls were paper thin, and you could hear everything. Every door that opened and shut sounded like it was in your room. The bathrooms didn't feel clean or well-kept.
There was a sink in the bedroom.

GermanyThe hostel is really not a place to feel at home at. Nothing is made with love, it feels really „cold „ there. And it was actually kind of cold in our room because we couldn’t control the heater ourself. In the bathrooms it smelled like mould, but to be Date, this is hard to control sometimes. We knew that it was a self check-in hostel, but we didn’t see anybody all day and there was no information, tips where to go in the area or anything like this lying around at the reception. This is something I go to a hostel for. Above us, there were really loud guests (I guess many children or teenagers) and they were stomping around until late night. We also couldn’t go up there, because there was a „private“-sign.
The kitchen in the hostel was amazing! They had everything you can imagine and it is a very big room with a lot of space for everyone. The four cookingspots and four sinks are very convenient. It was also clean in the hostel. We met one person who is working there and she was really nice.

AustraliaNo sound proofing - the hall echoes a lot and you can hear any time someone uses the bathroom or leaves their room. Bathrooms were not very clean - the shower had mould in the tiles. The toilets are in the same room as the shower so you have to wait for a long time to use them. Lounge area tiny and in a ‘walk throuhh’ zone. Used by tour groups so there isn’t much space in the kitchen once they are all in there.
Easy self check in, good cooking and kitchen facilities. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Kitchen very large.

Francethe room was half underground so even if the window isn't small we felt a little claustrophobic. Plus the kitchen wasn't clean enought and there was a smell of cigarette event if smoking is prohibited because people throw away their cigarets butts in the kitchen's bin... We are disapointed by this experience.
The chek in was easy and the size of the bedroom with twin beds reasonable. There were enought restrooms and bathrooms so that we didn't need to wait long.

IcelandCame there and waited longer than hour for someone to pick up the phone because room key didn't work...Got new room... Spend 2 days in room where literally water was dropping from ceiling on bed and walls were all wet from moisture...Got new room... Stayed in third room for 3 days and decided to leave the place because absolutely nobody from staff was there for full 3 days so kitchen and other common area was disgusting... I was suppost to stay there 12 nights so I contacted menager or owner Valdimar and I told him that I can't stay there anymore because everything was ridiculous and I told him that he can't treat his guest's like animals but he was just so incredibly rude and disrespectful...Just part of conversation,he was telling me how for holidays no staff is working there and that is fine if place for tourists is 3 days without any cleaning...I just simply don't understand all that.Yea,almost 100 euro per night and ofcours no money back for 6 days which I stayed there in conditions like that or for rest 6 days after I left.Just incredible.! Still thinking about civil lawsuit because I can't belive that someone could be so irresponsible and treat guest's like animals, especially in Christmas time.
Absolutely nothing.!
