we only had one issue that we had less blankets than required, but we found the closet with the extra pillows, linings and blankets to fix the problem.

it was nice and clean, easy check-in and checkout with their honor system since we arrived super late and I was very nervous about making sure we were able to checkchecking, but it was super easy and fast with their booling message and their log in book. there was also a very nice communal area with a full kitchen and boxes for the tenants. There was even a laundry area and Sauna which we didn't use but definitely can see the usefulness if we had stayed more than one night.

We stayed in one of the rooms with a private bathroom rather than the hostel part. Room was basic but clean and the bed was comfortable. Didn’t use the communal facilities but they looked good.

Walls are a bit thin, but they are upfront about it, & everybody seems conscious of trying to not make a noise.

Beautiful place, really cool & the staff were so friendly and helpful.

Fabulous location and interesting historic building. We loved the way that the old hospital structures were preserved, whilst having comfortable basic rooms and a fully equipped kitchen.

The stairs to climb the bunk bed. The bunk bed didn’t have grab handle to climb up.

The theme and vintage vibes of the place. The kitchen was fully equipped . The bathroom was clean and came with free sauna.

Some guests were VERY noisy throughout the night and early morning. The hostel did put up signs to remind guests to keep quiet but it wasn’t strictly enforced.

Great location at Seydisfjordur, access to the kitchen, and the space in our chosen room.

A lovely hostel undermined by large groups.

Large groups are accommodated and dominate the communal kitchen/dining/sitting areas. On our first evening, there was a group of 18 Italians who congregated to start cooking dinner at 10pm. They played music; they talked noisily; they took over the kitchen and dining room, asking us to move so they could combine tables; they were not respectful of the hostel rules asking for quiet behaviour. They were still there at 1.30am; they were talking in the corridor at 3.30am! On our second evening, there was an Indian group of 12+ who replicated the disrespectful behaviour we experienced the previous evening. They sat down to eat at 10pm at which point other people started cooking! To balance the needs and comfort of all guests, Hostels should insist on behaviour which is respectful and appropriate when taking group bookings.

Historic building, sympathetically restored; sauna; lovely staff who were personable, helpful and doing a great job. Our bedroom (No 14) was not adjacent to communal kitchen/dining/sitting area and was quiet at all times.

The garbage in the bathroom hadn’t been emptied since previous guests stayed there. It was in a cupboard and I think not cleaning it was an oversight.

N/A - breakfast. We had alot of space which was great because it was rainy and we had wet clothes to hang up. Staff were wonderful. Location was perfect - very central.

Shower was irregular going from cold to scalding hot which apart from very irritating is also potentially dangerous. Despite asking about this at reception we received no news on it. Suggest the thermostat be replaced. Disappointing as we booked the studio which was ensuite and paid for a shower that did not work. The thermostat button could also not be moved so the problem had nothing to do with other guests using showers. We stripped the bed of sheets as requested only to find a torn and stained topper underneath. The suspended bar to hand clothes (on the window side of the bed) was very low and you needed to bend down in order to not walk into it when getting out of bed. Needs to be elsewhere or much higher.

Spacious studio room and central location for village and ferry. Authentic old former hospital building, especially the main corridor.
