Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandI stayed in the junior suite and there were no plugs to charge my phone or watch at the bedside. I saw that in other rooms this has been solved by having lamps that include plugs. I would wish for the suite to have the same. I also think the suite could have a sofa instead of two chairs, a bigger TV and some wall decoration.
I stayed at Hotel Siglo with a group of clients. From the moment we arrived until we left we experienced excellence in service and attitude. All rooms were excellent, beds comfortable, good wifi and great breakfast. We had a great time at Hotel Siglo, enjoying the hot pool, sauna, dinner in the restaurant and working in the conference room.

United StatesThe beds were very hard, need updating to memoryfoam mattesses. The Extra bed was terrible, springs could be felt through the top. Disappointing in an otherwise awesome place!
Another gem in the fjords of Iceland! Lobby, restaurant and bar were very Cape Cod style, upscale, clean and inviting. Rooms with seaside design, very upscale. Loved the bathroom and the coffee pods (Dolco Nestle) in the room, to enjoy on the window seating!

United StatesOur only disappointment was that the restaurant was fully booked when we arrived in the afternoon, so we couldn't eat there. We did get a piece of chocolate cake delivered to our room, and it was the best chocolate cake we had in Iceland, so I imagine we missed a nice meal. But a some friendly local people kept us entertained at the nearby Harbour House Cafe, so we had fun anyway.
Really beautiful hotel room with a fantastic bathroom with a nice big shower and actual glass shower doors so the bathroom floor stays dry (which we found to be rare in Iceland). Also they are right across the street from the "much better than it sounds" Herring Era Museum, which really was surprisingly great!

IcelandThere's not much I don't like about the hotel. For us personally, we would have loved to have a fridge (or minibar) in the room, but I guess they want you to buy your cold drinks at the bar ;)
The hotel a sophisticated hotel in a small town. It's a place to "treat yourself" and enjoy the surroundings, for example the sauna and hot tub by the ocean. The rooms are big and bed comfortable.

SwitzerlandSome restaurant staff require more training, but this will come with practice
Most hotels in Iceland are austere, faceless and super-functional, irrespective of their star rating. But Siglo is a perfect 4-star, which oozes personality and style. It's like a beachside California inn transported to the very north of Iceland. The staff are excellent and friendly, the rooms are fresh, with great views over the Siglufjordur fjord, the breakfast choice is good and features quite a few homemade and non-standard items. It's also worth booking a table for dinner, as the food is delicious. We had our best seafood soup there.

United StatesThe restaurant had a pretty view but the food was just okay. The dishes were a bit too salty for me. It is a bit pricy, but so is everything in Iceland. It was well worth it, however.
My husband and I stayed for two night only a few days ago and it was fantastic! The deluxe room, #237 was at the end of the hall with the view of the water/pier. The room and the bathroom were sparkling clean. The bed was on the soft side but felt as though it molded with you and was very comfortable. My husband who normally prefers a harder bed raved about it. Everyone was nice and helpful. The waitress who served us was interning from Austria and was very hospitable. It is a small town so everything is within a walking distance. The Herring Museum was just across the street and was well worth it. We learned so much about the industry the important role it played for Iceland. It is an ideal place to stay for a couple of days, to relax, hike, or ride the bike.

CanadaAs we were travelling around the island in a campervan visiting all the attractions, we arrived at our hotel 7 minutes to 9 pm. The gentleman at the reception checked us in and informed us that there were not many places to dine and their dining room was closing in 7 minutes. As we informed him we hadn't had dinner yet, he proceeded to the dining room and made arrangements to keep the dining room open to serve us a most excellent meal. We requested a view of the harbor which to my surprise was provided without additional cost. The room was quite spacious and very clean with a king size bed that was the most comfortable we have ever slept in, not to mention the high quality down pillows and duvet that came with it. We would highly recommend a stay at this hotel as the staff were friendly and very accommodating to ensure an enjoyable hassle-free stay.
