Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe host was impolite. We booked a room with a double bed and private bathroom. We received a room with twin beds and a shared bathroom. He didn't believe us and said there were no rooms left and we couldn't get a refund. I was able to go through the booking process for another room (double bed with private bathroom) after he said this - so he wasn't being honest with us. He also said that in all of Europe, there is no such thing as a double, queen, or king bed. The beds are all twins put together. I corrected him (we're from the USA but have dual citizenships in EU countries) and then he said, "well, that's true in Iceland." We are friendly people and were rather taken aback by this experience. We didn't argue (well, I couldn't help it with the bed comment...) and gave in to the fact we had to stay... The room was clean and well equipped, but with the shared bathroom there was no privacy. The sound carried as if the door was open. Our neighbor coughed most of the night. The property is rather unkempt - and it seems like long term residents live here too. The side entrances are junky. And just know that this is not at the airport, it's near the airport. We had to drive less than 10 minutes - we had expected we'd be within walking distance. On a good note, the breakfast was lovely....so we were able to leave with full stomachs at least!
We liked the breakfast - quite a variety and as much as we needed to fuel up for the day.

United KingdomThere was only 1 toilet/bathroom per floor. A bit far from the airport, you need to take a bus (if during the day) or taxi. If you are unlucky with your room mates, you might not be able to sleep, but that is the problem with dormitories.
Everything was clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was OK.

United StatesA bit expensive to take a taxi back and forth to the airport.
It was quieter than I expected. The showers were great. The breakfast was filling with variety and good coffee. The staff helped me get a taxi and it came quickly. The kitchen was only big enough for one group to cook in. There were plenty of leftover snacks available.

GermanyAlthough it claims to be an airport hotel it is quite far away from the terminal and does not have airport transfer: They suggest a taxi at 4.800 ISK (35 Euro) - so from Rental Car to Hotel and from hotel to Airport it is 70 - 80 Euro extra costs.
Staff was very friendly, nice breakfast (starting at 4 am - thank you so much!), room was very tidy and also there is free tea and coffee 24/7.

BelgiumEven though still in fair condition, the place shows it age could benefit from some refurbishment.
Excellent location, very close to the airport, thus really convenient on late arrivals or overnight connections. Good standard with sufficient comfort. Recommended.

ChinaThe location was not that close to the airport and the bus was not frequent. In the end we had to rent a car to go there, as it didn't take long to drive there from the airport.
Breakfast was very good, one of the best I've had in Iceland. The shared kitchen was nice to prepare something ourselves as restaurants close early. There was coffee and hot water all the time.

United StatesWe had the room at the very end of the corridor (117). The drain for the shower was really slow so water overflowed onto the floor. When we told them about it at the desk, they told us "Yeah, that's just a problem with that room. The water backs up." They suggested that we turn the water off as we lathered up to reduce the amount of water going down the drain. Rather annoying when you have 3 people needing to shower.
The rooms were simple, but met our needs for a place to stay close to the airport. Breakfast was good and they start serving at 4am which was good, because we needed to leave at 6:30am.

PortugalThe bathtube wasn't draining the water properly, and the pressure of the water in the shower was too weak.
The family room is large and functional and the location is very good, for the late flight in which we arrived. The breakfast was OK.

We needed to be as near as possible to airport, so we chose this hotel. They know this is probably the most usual goal of people, so breakfast starts already at 4 am, what is awesome! Already at the evening, we could have free coffee, tea in the kitchen.

Portugalbig, big fraud!!!!! as normal, I booked the hotel that same day using the site of booking.com (room with 2 single beds with private bathroom). The fare which I took was 135,13 Euros. The site mentioned, as usual in the case of reservations in the same day, that we could make the payment immediately or at the hotel. I choosed the last one When I arrived at the hotel, they obliged me to pay 148,50 Euros. Then, I said that I wanted to anull the reservation and make another one with the foreseen value of 135,13 Euros. They said me that they would charge me immediately the 148,50 Euros... This is a fraud and I would like that Booking.com or the hotel will deposit in my account the remaining 13,37 Euros which were abusely charged on my payment at the hotel.
