Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesRoom got really hot and had to keep the window open.
Private room was basically a hotel room. Very nice and had a great view. Nice bathroom and shower in the room as well. Common space was cool, lots of seating by and more great views. Kitchen was huge and made it convenient to hang out and play cards. I was a little nervous with it being a hostel but ended up being one of the nicer places we stayed through out our two weeks.

DenmarkThe sitting area between the bar, reception, restaurant, and dorms did not work so well. It would have been nice with a more relaxed area. It would also take some load of the kitchen area. Though the place seemed almost new, some things were already starting to wear down - pour materials for e.g., doors and trim had started to swell.
Well functioning kitchen and dining area with a wonderful view over the beach. The double bed in a four-bed dormitory worked better than expected.

SpainNot enough space to leave our backpacks. We went in May, I cannot imagine this in winter time. Also, there were a large group of very rude, loud asian young adults. I understand its a hostel but it was too much.
Lovely place. Nice kitchen. Lovely drinks.

TaiwanThe bathroom is a bit cold because it's separate from the room and therefore is without a heater. But, generally, It's not too bad.
The view of this suite is nice! The room is modern and all the equipment, including the kitchen and bathroom, is very new and clean! The room space is large, feel so relaxed staying here.

SpainThe Barn has been the best hostal we have been- reason: the vibe. Quite some guests, from all ages, also young and the bar ensures there is people in the common area chilling, gaming and interacting with each other. I would strongly recommend it.

IndiaThe rooms were a little smart to keep our luggage properly. I felt if only we could have some place to open our bags and a little bit of more light in the room.
The property felt very clean, staff very helpful. I found the beds were soft n comfortable. The kitchen had lot of equipment’s and crockery n cutlery with the glass window. There were lot of wash basins, toilets and shower area so no waiting.

RomaniaHigh price for a bed in a six beds dormitory. Sinks in the common area a bit dirty, people are quite disreagarding. This is also because this is a big place, so a lot of mixed people... Also the kitchen was pretty dirty. The food from the bar was not great either.
Confy beds, amazing decor and design of the whole place, great location.

GreeceIf you carry valuables expensive stuff (for example camera gear) I wouldn't feel very safe, because all spaces are shared. That's to be expected of a hostel of course. They offered me some lockers, but didn't feel reassured. Didn't want to leave things in the car either. (No worries. It's a safe country. Chances of something happening are low.) Rooms are small, beds like coffins and it was a bit chilly. You get what you pay I guess (for Iceland standards). The room door didn't close properly all the way. Also it attracts lots of younger age people that make more noise. (That goes to positive if you're 20😛)
It's a first time for me in a hostel and I can say overall experience was very nice. It's very clean, has a lot of spaces outside the room to chill, bathrooms, showers and a big kitchen with a view to have lunch or breakfast. Nice decoration, well organised, easy access, check in and parking. The view outside is amazing! I do recommend it for a short stay on budget.

SloveniaThe most expensive hostel in Iceland but no hot water when you need it. I stayed there two non-consecutive nights but the only time there was hot water available was after 2am on the first night (I've checked it before at 10pm and was cold). In the morning it was fine again. So I believe if you are early enough you can also enjoy a warm shower.
Bed was super comfortable, helpful staff, very spacious kitchen and great location
