Quiet hours are not well enforced, people will be partying and be very loud well past midnight. The showers are pretty bad; they will only stay hot for 30 seconds at a time before turning ice cold for a few minutes. The food is not good, but it is not a restaurant so can’t really put that against them.

Really comfy rooms at the hostel. Every bed has private curtains and staff are excellent. Has laundry (paid), which is quite rare in hostels. Very clean showers and toilets. Big kitchen with lots of dishes available.

We booked 4 beds in a dormitory room, we expected that each of us would get one single bed, and we would stay with 2 other people (4 ppl in total), turns out each bed is a double bed for 2 people, so, in total we are staying with 6 other travelers, (8 in total with us). The room is very small for 8 people.

Huge + Well-Equipped kitchen, The location is close to the black sand beach + nice view from the kitchen, Very modern interior design. Very Clean

Staff was amazing. Great location. Only thing that was a bummer was how hot it was in the room and the fact they couldn’t do anything about it. And the light in the front door wasn’t blocked. Trouble sleeping because of that

No locks on the doors and very limited place for luggage. Literally the only down side of this hostel.

The place was fantastic!!!! Excellent kitchen with good amount of pot and pans etc. Good atmosphere. Great location, very close to Vik but the feel of being right out in the middle of no where. Friendly staff and a very cute dog.

Parking lot was frozen and slippery, but that's a common trait in iceland, so you can kind of expect it.

The hostel is really nice, with a lot of common spaces. The kitchen upstair is well equipped and organized. The room were nice and cleaned and the bed really comfy. Showers too were spacious and clean.

Great location, kitchen area well fitted out, we got a private room and it was lovely, could have maybe used one additional bathroom on the floor but overall it was lovely and so close to Vik.

The Barn is a gem in Vik. It might be the best place to spend a night at a reasonable cost. It has everything and the whole place is squeaky clean.

Everything was perfect. During the check in we had a pleasant surprise that we got an upgrade for a private room instead of the dorm. The room was really clean, warm. The beds were comfy and the shared bathroom was clean and functional. The shared kitchen us well furnished with several tables and a nice view to the mountains. In the entrance they offer flavored water. Private parking is available.

Everything was fine

The Barn in Vik is an absolute gem! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The design yet cozy atmosphere creates the perfect ambiance for a relaxing getaway. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure our stay was nothing short of fantastic. The rooms were comfortable and tastefully decorated, providing a perfect retreat after a day of exploring the breathtaking surroundings. The location is ideal, with stunning views of the surrounding landscape and easy access to nearby attractions. I highly recommend The Barn to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Vik!

Second time at this hostel. Quite a good option for 1 night. double beds are comfortable and toilets/showers are well kept. We also saw aurora from there.
