The beds are missing shelves to place your belongings - a small detail. Also, compared to other hostels in Iceland, showers here were a bit dirty - the hostel was fully booked so fair enough but still could move you from 9 to 10 stars!

The location-value ratio is unbeatable. It's a short drive away from Reynisfjara beach. The hostel itself has a very cozy vibe in style reminding you of the black beach itself :) The beds have curtains and the kitchen is fully equipped, offering beautiful views over the rainy nature.

The location is awesome. The prices for which they provide dorm beds are absolutely fantastic. There is very cool, calm and friendly dog as well at the property. The black sand beach is 5 mints drive from The Barn. the Vik town is quite close. the staff is very nice. They also provide you with fruits at the reception and in the kitchen. :):)

Fantastically organized hostel! Very well prepared for all kind of traveller. Double bunk beds (super idea) with curtains, plenty of showers, well equipped kitchen. They also serve drinks at the bar and yummy, quick breakfasts. Just right next to the Black Beach!!!

It was what we expected. Liked everything about it :)

+Modern hostel (more like posh-tel) minutes away from the Black Beach and Vik. Couldn’t be a more perfect location. +Beautiful views from our room too! + The beds were very comfy and the shared bathroom was no hassle at all. 2 bathrooms available for those in private rooms (about 8 rooms on the floor), with powerful shower and toilet. Large shared kitchen available which was very helpful when we wanted to make our own breakfasts or have a drink. There are dorm rooms downstairs and I believe they also have a similar setup downstairs. + The staff are very friendly too! + The bar had a lot of options and wasn’t too expensive (compared to the rest of Iceland). + Loads of parking allocated to the Hostel directly outside. Would 100% recommend staying here!

It would be convenient to have hooks next to the taps, and a few more shelves inside the cupboards in the kitchen for everyone to store their dry goods. It seems the culture in Iceland relies very much on trust, but I would have appreciated to be able to lock away my bag with my ID and money.

Great location, not far from very scenic views. The Barn is definitely a backpacker hostel and is organised as such, with shoe racks outside of each bedroom. Each bed has a place to put their luggage on and there are many coat hangers. It is well organised with many showers, toilets and sinks. I appreciated the complimentary towel. Very warm atmosphere.

Beautiful stay in the barn ! We were in a dorm,they have double beds so a couple can be together. Comfy beds. Lots of showers and toilets, very clean. The bar area and the kitchen are great. Amazing view from the kitchen. Chances to see aurora at night. staff was friendly and helpful. They have a laundry service which is very convenient.

It was a little overpriced for a hostel ( we had a private room) the room we had was very basic and lacked a cozy feel.

the location was amazing! fantastic views and surrounding areas. a very cool and modern building. the shared kitchen was fantastic with all the equipment and space to cook and socialise.

A bit unusual to have double beds with one blanket as bunk beds and to have a "no keys" policy, but that's really not a problem.

Good place to "come home" to after a rainy hike, very comfy and welcoming. Sufficient shower and washing facilities and enough space to hang up wet clothes. Kitchen is well equipped and there are also small meals (also for breakfast) for purchase.

Nothing, it was amazing.

By far the best hostel anyone in our group had ever visited! The kitchen was well equipped, the staff were amazing, the beds are very comfy, everything was very clean and very nice showers too.

Some of the other hostel guests were fairly loud at late hours (after 12 PM) but its a hostel so you have to expect that.
