Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWe felt that the cost of the room was high for a hostel, but then it's Iceland. The shower water was luke warm and it was on a timer, so we needed to press the button to restart the water every couple of minutes. We wish they'd had a formal breakfast.
The staff members were friendly and accommodating. Although there was no formal breakfast, there were a few things to buy in the morning, including coffee and instant oatmeal. Also, my daughter could use the fridge in the communal kitchen and prepare food in the kitchen. We liked the hostel's funky vibe and interior as well as its history as a venue for musicians and comedians. The room, though small, was comfortable, and we had our own private bathroom with a shower. We loved the mural art by a local artist of a Norse goddess. The parking was free. It was close to an Arctic tern sanctuary.

Great atmosphere! You can hang out in the cosy sofas, play ping pong and have a nice beer. The shared kitchen is very handy. We enjoyed the concert Saturday and film on Sunday. The room for four was super spacious and comfortable.

PolandThere are only 2 showers not separated to the toilet. Be careful of the birds (seagulls?) nearby. If you go for a walk, they are screaming and trying to attack you or make your clothes dirty.
Everything was fine. Kichen well equipped. There is a possibility to order some simple food or drink. They organize concerts sometimes.

IcelandIt is such a unique place with a very large chill area and bar. There was great live music on Saturday evening. The area has a magical vibe and the artist created a unique place to stay in.

FranceThe bedroom could have done with a few more hooks to hang clothes and/or some shelves or lockers to put things away. As it was I stored everything under the bed. Overall, it is still a great place, especially for the cheapest hostel I have found in Iceland.
The Freezer is a great place to socialise. The atmosphere is relaxed and the huge living room space favours interactions, with many board games available, which also makes it a great place for families. Each bed is equiped with a small lamp and plug, perfect to charge your phone. There are plenty of hooks in the bathroom too. The location is also perfect to explore the Snafellsnes peninsula.

NetherlandsThe kitchen was quite busy during our night there, probably because a group of people who parked their bus or camper near the hostel used the amenities. We also did need the free earplugs because the showers make some noise when used in the mixed room.
it was a great cultural experience and very cheap, as of course it is a hostel. I loved the vibe and I felt very welcome. Also appreciated the free earplugs.

FranceThe individual room was ok, but the place was still under construction so it had a feeling of "unfinished". I had the "aurora" room and.. it was not really what I'd call a comfy room. It was dark because it is painted in dark violet/black and has a huge painted mural made by some "artist" (I didn't like it). What bothered me more was the poor quality of the bed: cheap and not comfy at all. Probably one of the worst bed of my trip. Also the room smelled of fresh paint and had almost no furniture, so it produces some echo of everything you do. I hope this will improve once the construction will be completed because this place is a real gem! Until then, the quality/cost ratio is bad. For the price, the dorm rooms are a better deal, they are spacious and if you're lucky, not that noisy at night depending on the people sharing it with you.
Not my first time at the Freezer. The place is amazing as usual, especially the common area just before the concert room. Plenty of couches, games, music instruments, books... It's an awesome place to spend time with friends, fellow travellers or even work a bit on your laptop (if the other guests aren't too loud haha). If you're lucky, you can even witness some local cultural events such as concerts, theatre plays or even meet some local icelanders that like to hang out and drink beers. The kitchen is ok, spacious and rather clean. The room was quiet.
