Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsIt’s a cool looking creative place so I was looking forward to my stay. I am aware that for these prices you don’t have to expect chocolates on your pillow. But the minimum is that it’s clean and it wasn’t, especially the shower area. Also a lot of things were broken, the bedlight, the watertap, etc. And the wifi didn’t work. I was supposed to stay two nights but left after one because it was so uncomfortable.

FranceCoffee and tea are paid!! The toilet and shower are in one room, and there are only two for the whole hostel and it's not very clean!! So you have to wait and not be in a hurry if someone is taking a shower! The beds are not very comfortable. There is music that is way too loud until late at night. The kitchen could also be cleaner.

IndiaOnly 2 bathroom cum showers that I could spot across the place so it could get tricky in busy times. However, it was never a problem for me and managed well.
I liked that it was one of the cheapest stays in Iceland. It was very accessible to places I wanted to cover in the Snaefellness peninsula. It was just 25mins from Kirkufell to hike and also just 30mins to the Snæfellsjökull national park too. The staff were very friendly, they've created a very communal atmosphere, they encouraged me to sing in the Karaoke nights.

GermanyThe whole set up is like a flea market, or maybe I cannot appreciate the “art” vibe. The kitchen is too small for all the guests, the pots, pans, cutlery, plates, mugs are all mixed and match. Beside the kitchen are the cramped mixed dormitory. We went to the big hall to have dinner because we didn’t fit in the kitchen, and when somebody started to sing, they dimmed the lights on us. Not only that, they called out all other people there except us Asians and from South America. Never again will I set foot here!
Free Parking, nice small town, nice greetings upon arrival.

United StatesI booked this through Booking.com, and it came up as having a private bathroom ... though upon arrival discovered that wasn't true. Upon arrival it took a long time to find someone that worked there, and when I did, he was sitting on a couch playing guitar, not paying any attention to the many people wandering in/ out. There was a lot of chaos and traffic, and then I learned there would be karaoke at 8:30. We were traveling with three generations, driving some long distances. Our group often tries to go to bed by 9, and then we are up again really early. We quickly determined that the thin walls, shared bathroom, kitchen, living areas, the traffic, lack of care for people coming and going, and karaoke was not going to allow a good nights rest for any of us. We ended up in search of a last-minute alternative accommodations, and paying for this as well.

IcelandThe beds are hard, and I woke up in pain every day The people were rude and left the luggage open and all over the floor, so in the night it was very hard going to the toilet. And I couldn't sleep because of loud snoring, two nights out of three People also left the outdoors open through the night In the mornings, people didn't close the bedroom doors when leaving the room, so I couldn't sleep, I had to sleep after they left during the day Plus, people were so loud when going up in the morning, banging the cups and pans and dishes like they were paid for it, and because they didn't close the bedroom doors, they kept people, who didn't have to be up, awake, so rude
I liked the staff The kitchen was ok, but all the tables were made out of steel, so the noise in the kitchen was unbearable 💔 especially when people were drunk 🥴

SloveniaSupermarkets/convenience stores are either in Olafsvik or Hellisandur, and weekend closing times are "tough". there's nothing else to go to in Rif, but the FREEZER takes care of it.
From the outside -a warehouse. From the inside: a great, funky, alternative place to go to, hang out, chill, play games and LISTEN TO MUSIC every night. Spent one night only there, but had the chance to meet, mix and migle with locals. If I ever come back to this area, a definite repeat! Food (snacks) and drinks available, too if you arrive late.

IcelandNobody was working and no live music (problem with not enough employees and the singer was sick). Of course it can happen.
The place was very nice and clean. It was self-service experience because nobody was at check in or at the bar but they were able to help me to go in on the phone. Also I found the frozen pizza. I was so hungry!
