I had an amazing stay at this hostel! Everything was incredibly clean, and the staff were very friendly and quick to communicate. I asked if I could leave my luggage at the hostel after checkout while I went for a walk, and they were more than accommodating. The atmosphere here is so welcoming, it feels like being part of a family. A big bonus is the adorable dogs and some ducks that add to the charm. They even have postcards available, so you can write and send a note to your friends from the hostel.It's also conveniently close to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Highly recommended!

Room had minimal space apart from the bed. The room was very hot, and when the window was opened overnight a lot of bugs came in because of a lack of flyscreen. The entrance was very messy with clothing and shoes everywhere. You were not allowed to wear shoes inside the property, so you had to leave them with everyone else's, but there was not enough space for all of the guests.

This hostel is well located in Vik near to a convenient restaurant. It was a self check in that was simple to manage, with clear instructions for facilities. Room was clean with a double bed that was fairly comfortable. Shared shower was okay.

The complete lack of interaction by the owners or managers of the Hostel. We saw lots of very confused new arrivals coming in and found myself showing them the facilities myself as there was just a welcome piece of paper with the key in an envelope!

Liked the cooking facilities at the hostel, my kids liked the dogs. The location was excellent in the older part of Vik near the church was great.

Originally I used another website to book for 3 nights, but due to the change of my travel plan I had to modify my stay one day later. The hostel said they don’t have vacancy on the third night I requested but will put me on the waiting list. So I booked the third night in another guesthouse on booking.com and ask the hostel to put me on the waiting list for August 1. Then I saw vacancy on August 1 on booking.com and I wrote an email to the hostel to put me on the day. The lady in charge of the booking system told me she was on vacation so she asked me to make another booking and she will refund me the extra money I paid when she return on August 1. So I paid for 4 night and stayed only 3 night, but she didn’t refund my money. She told me she would refund me online but I didn’t receive any refund so I wrote her an email again. Until now, I don’t get any reply of the email and don’t get refund yet. I cannot believe this happened in Iceland because Iceland is a nice country with good reputation for honesty. And I feel really bad to be cheated which terribly ruins my mood on my vacation.

- Well, what should I say? I am aware, that Iceland is an expensive place and I know, that this is the only hostel in Vik. I think, though, that a price of 80€ for a night in a 6 bed dorm room in a basement is pretty expensive and I would expect certain standards coming with it. I probably wouldn't have critizised some of these things if the price was lower. - no staff members at the house. They place your ley in an envelope and you do the rest. As I stated above, it worked fine. For me this feels like an easy way to get the maximum out by minimum effort. - the doorm room was in the basement. I was glad, there were two windows, though. - rooms and bathrooms need to be freshened up. - the floor in the entrance room got pretty dirty with many people coming inside. - bad or no wifi connection in dorm room - it was pretty hot during the night - no curtains at your bed for privacy - only 2 showers in the house. - Towel was clean, but smelled a bit weird

+ Easy to find + Free parking in front of the house + You get a discount in a few restaurants in town when living here. I can fecomment the black crust pizza place. + Clean rooms and bathrooms + Check in and check out worked fine + Quiet place + Kitchen was clean. + Each bed had a plug

The second time we stayed the only available shower base was clogged and water run down very slowly - basically didn't feel safe when showering after the previous person. Not sure if just my bad luck or we managed to avoid it somehow for the first time as the facility is cleaned every day which we saw ourselves.

Booked the place for the second time along our way back to Reykjavik since it was the cheapest available one and the weather was challenging. The first time we stayed all was ok and would definitely recommend regardless of the fact that the entire house had only one shower available. Clean and warm.

The hostel keeps many roosters. A hostel should not have a loud persistent alarm that goes off literally outside your window for hours starting by 6:00 am. It was impossible to sleep once it started either morning. Roosters are not compatible with a business focused on providing a place to sleep. Also, there was nowhere to dry wet raingear.

Pros: comfortable bed, though we were switched into a double bed when we needed separate beds. Some rooms have a sea view. Very comfortable mattresses and pillows.

really small bedroom where wet clothes was hard to dry (it was raining all the time..) chilly outside the room. better coffee options at kitchen would be appreciated. also i would expect someone at reception but checkin was smooth anyway.

kinda good price/value, smooth checkin. really appreciate shoe dryer on recepcion 👍 there is a kitchen with fridge where you can cook.

The room only contained 2 beds (space to move was limited) no closet and no facilities to dry clothing. I was travelling in winter, where the warm water supply in the shared bathrooms was limited and the facilities old.

You have a beautiful view from the upper windows looking at hills and you can see the church of Vik

The room is very small, the roof is too low so we hit our head multiple times. Nobody is there for questions. For the price it was not so good but we did not have any other opportunities. The second night we stayed somewhere much better for half of the price

The terasse and the view is great. Everything you need is in the kitchen and there enough bathrooms.

The only thing I could think they could improve on was the lighting when walking from the hotel to the restaurant as it was really dark and we needed to put our flash on to see where we was walking

Really good location to see the black sand beaches and a really good anchor point for visiting the south of Iceland. Would really recommend staying here!
