Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesBuilding is pretty cool and the room is nice. But it’s a little older and there was an issue with the shower drains that made us have to keep showers short.
Location was very good, walking distance to the Colosseum. Bus stops right out front. No restaurants right near us so we had to walk but we were ok with that. Staff was very friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much.

ChileWe had an amazing stay at Hotel Valeri, great room, comfy beds, splendid location, 15 minutes from the Colosseum. But what made the experience most wonderful was the staff. Francesco welcomed us warmly and gave us great advice on places to visit in the city and Wassim was a great host when we arrived after a long day of sightseeing. I would recommend Hotel Valeri to anyone who travels to Rome.

PortugalWhen you go to Rome, your go-to place to stay is The Hotel Valeri. Very clean and beautiful place, run by a top staff. Ruis welcomed us with open arms and treated us like family. He took excellent care of us. Tomasso was there for us and also saw to anything we needed. Fernando gave us a great map with all the places highlighted that we should see, with transportation and restaurant tips, Roberto, the owner, gave us great tips about how to get city bus tickets, the bus stop is literally right around the corner from the hotel. The centrall location was very convenient, and the beds were very comfortable, like a cloud. Breakfast was excellent. Definitely will stay here again for our next visit to Rome. All the staff get an A+ in my book. A wonderful home away from home. 😊

United KingdomVery friendly staff who welcomed us with open arms (and a pastry), comfortable room with plenty of space. Accommodated an early checkin and happy to stow bags on check out. Good location, 10 mins from Colosseum but not too central (quiet neighbourhood). Would recommend.

TurkeyAn amazing place with very friendly people working. The room is very useful and big. The place is always clean and tidy, we wanted the housekeeping only one time during our stay and, they did a remarkable job. The breakfast is enough to feed yourself and delicious. The location of the hotel is perfect, it is 10 minutes close to colosseum and far from the noise and crowds. Also, the public transportation selections are various. When you arrive, just ask the Holy Map of Francesco’s which will give you the best experience of this beautiful city. You can either walk through the city or take the bus from 1 minute walk from the hotel.

IrelandWhat a beautiful small hotel. It’s a 10 min walk from the Colosseum, but in a slightly quieter part of town so it’s not that busy around the streets. Francesco, the manager was the nicest man ever. Super helpful and kind and always smiling. The beds were super comfy. The breakfast was just want you wanted in the morning.

RomaniaThe location is amazing, no need to use public transport to walk around, enjoy the city and see the landmarks. The staff was beyond helpful and nice, with Carlo provinding us with every information and a very pleasant welcome from the first moment to the last. IrelandI would have loved a small kettle in our to make tea when we returned each day, or to start the day.
Very friendly, welcoming little hotel. Towels & bed linen were of pristine quality. Room was cleaned & beds made up each day of our 4 day stay. Breakfast was varied, continental & very relaxed. Fridge & safe in bedroom Hotel was in a good location for walking in Rome, about 15 mins from Colosseum. Hotel was able to provide twin beds for traveling friends, as opposed to double bed, which we were very glad of!

Bosnia and HerzegovinaHeating in bathroom isn't working. When we asked the staff if there was a problem with the heating in the bathroom, we were told that there is no heating in the bathroom at all, that the radiator wasn't connected to the system, which was really unpleasant surprise, since the temperatures were lower in the evenings. Also, the second morning there was a problem with breakfast order, as we were told, so there was a limited choice of food, only cheese, few boiled eggs, bread, sweet pastries, not any salami, mortadela ... In apologies, we've been offered a free drinks in the evening.
Stuff was great, kind and friendly. We've been welcomed by Radovan and Carlo. They gave us a lot useful information about city, restaurants etc, especially Radovan. Our room was upgraded with bigger one, which was really nice. Room was spacious and clean. Location of the hotel is great, just a 10 minutes walk to Colloseum.

United KingdomHotel Valeri—what can I say? An absolutely amazing place! The staff were incredible, making us feel right at home. My friend and I stayed for two nights over the weekend to celebrate her birthday, and they made the experience so special. Carlo ensured we knew exactly where to go, which public transport to use, and how to navigate to the best destinations. Alexandros made the most amazing coffee and genuinely cared about our comfort. We stayed in a downstairs room with a patio—it was spotless, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The room itself was a decent size with a lovely bathroom. The hotel is in a great location, just a 10-minute walk to the Colosseum and only 2 minutes from a bus stop. Overall, I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. We hope to return later this year with a larger group. A huge THANK YOU to Carlo, Alexandros, Francesco, and another staff member whose name I can't recall—you all went above and beyond to take care of us!
