Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BelarusA small room with four bunks; no air conditioning; the kitchen is dirty, the kettle is dead. At least the refrigerator works. Bad wi-fi connection.
Location is really good; at least a little fan in the room, because no air conditioning; ability to leave my things at the reception before check-in or after check-out; terrace for chilling; kitchen.

GermanyBedroom looks like a provisory hospital built during a war. You never know who’s gonna sleeps with you in a room, but that’s the risk of a hostel. When I entered, there was a horrible smelling (I think homeless) person sleeping there, I think naked. The host should kind of prevent having these kind of gusts or give them a separate room. I really hoped that I would sleep with her kn the room and I was indeed lucky. But I was very scared. Anyway the room is full of smelly feet, but this is out of control of the host. In General i was pretty scared who’s gonna be my neighbor.
Bathroom was okay, it was clean, but I was also the first guest going in the morning. Beds were okay for sleeping, not unhygienic.

CanadaI could only connect to the wifi when I sat in the Reception and if there were not very many people in the building. The number of bathrooms available for the number of people staying meant there were often long waits to use the toilet and shower. There was no hot water in the tap in the kitchen.
The staff were amazing. Daniel and Ahmed helped me so much. The location of the hostel was very close to Rialto Bridge and the vaporetto stop. All of the buildings in the area were historical. I also enjoyed the outdoor terrace off the kitchen.

United KingdomReception area on first floor uninviting. Ground floor entrance scruffy and had a homeless person taking refuge on our arrival in the ground floor lobby. Later, found him lying asleep outside the property!! Our room was on top floor - without a ceiling, so felt like sleeping in a barn 😆
Location to Rialto Bridge Close by. Spacious room with good bathroom facilities. Good value for money

FranceIn the bathroom, there was a small bucket to collect water from the heating system, because of a leak. We had to empty the bucket every morning and every night before going to sleep. The shades, made of wood, were old and there was some spaces where the light could pass through. A mask to cover our eyes was necessary to avoid being woken up by the sun light. Walls are too thin, so if your neighbours are noisy, prepare to have a difficult night.
The location is very convenient. Rialto bridge and fish market are close. You don't have to walk too long to reach St Mark's plazza.

AustriaHowever, the only complain is that the bed in my hostel room had something stored below it so I would hit it every time I got off the bed or walked towards it in my hostel room.
The location of the hostel is great. They also have a very nice look to the hostel from the inside.

United KingdomThere were a couple of mosquitos in my room during my stay. Also, there seems to be only one power socket in my room, which should’ve housed three people. Also the kitchen wasn’t the cleanest.
Because there was some mix-up during my check-in process where the staff didn’t realize that there was no empty bed left in the girl’s room, she asked me if I mind staying with men, which I do if there were only men, so she promptly gave me a room to myself. The hostel is inside a cozy old house, and the decoration in my room reflected that vintage vibe. There is a water bus station on the Grand Canal just three minutes’ walk away.

BrazilThe entrance hall could be a place to stay chill, the decoration is nice, but I don't think that place is well used, there were some bin bags. The room is very noisy, the windows are not soundproof, every time someone opens the door, the glass of the windows shakes and makes noise, the doors are noise. The bathroom was dirty, which is shared with many rooms so, needs to be cleaned at least 2 per day. IF it was a cheap hostel I would accept it, but, it is not, so, the quality of the stay wasn't compatible with the price.
The location is great, the decoration inside the hall entrance is really interesting, and the door outside is curious. There is a kitchen and an outdoor place to chill. The staffs are nice. I could let my backpack there after my checkout.

PolandIt was cold in the room - despite the fact that I told the staff about the problem, the heating doesn't work. One day in the morning we don't have hot water under the shower. We had broken power socket in the room. The kitchen was extremely dirty and just destroyed. The shared bathroom was not so clean and used - it need urgent renovation. Even the furniture was destroyed - broken chairs etc. It was rather the standard of very bad dormitory not the guest house.
The location was good - near the Rialto Bridge - about 5-7 minutes by walk. Bed was quite comfortable and nothing more.

NetherlandsThe place had a very moldy smell, mainly because of the canals and the age of the building. The bathroom floor was constantly wet. If you leave the room and don’t open windows, it starts to smell like processed meats. There were no lockers, only for a deposit.
