I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this hostel. Right from the start, things were bad – the entire place had a strong smell of mold, and sure enough, there was visible mold on the walls. The bed sheets were dirty, which made the room feel unhygienic, and to top it off, I discovered bed bugs! I left with bites all over, which was extremely uncomfortable. The doors didn’t lock properly, leaving me feeling unsafe about my belongings. Even communication was difficult; none of the staff spoke any Italian, making it hard to get help or even ask simple questions. Overall, this was one of the worst hostel experiences I've ever had. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

For the price, everything was great. Maybe warmer blanket would be nice but overall everything was great.

Location was excellent, very close to Rialto. Room had one double bed and two smaller beds. Double bed was very cosy and smaller beds were ok. Bathroom was clean. We were provided with soap, shower gel and toilet paper.

We woke up to several bugs in our beds, around the walls and in the room. Once we let the staff know about the issue, they dismissed us claiming there was nothing to be concerned about. We were forced to discard of our personal belongings out of fear we would be carrying bugs back with us. Our experience at Ai Boteri was so horrible it completely ruined our trip to Venice. There was no offer for a room change or any compensation or even an apology for the distress caused. This place must be shut down as it is a serious health concern for guests.

There was nothing positive about our stay at Ai Boteri.

Exceptional for a hostel. Wonderful staff, very charming and caring. Very central location. Very close to restaurants, bars and just in the heart of Venice without paying arm and a leg. Definitely would go back.

Staff forgot to put a bug repellant in our room and we were attacked by bugs throughout the night. All three of us woke up covered in bug bites. Bathroom had most appliances but was not very clean. The pictures on the booking did not compare well to what we were met with when we arrived. Way too overpriced for what we received. Wish I had known more beforehand and that the pictures were accurate before spending as much as we did. Wish I had spend more on another place even if it meant I had to walk further.

Bad bugs + arrogance We woke up horribly bitten by bad bugs. When we Said it to the man at the reception He Said It was from mosquitos. We checked the mattress and found some bad bugs full of blood And showed them to him. Then He said that He Will exchange us the room. I only stayed for 1night And told him that I was afraid to bring bad bugs in my luggage to myhome. He Said it was impossible. Then He gave me phone number to the manager who asked me to send him my reservation number And that He Will contact me later about some compensation. After that He didn't answer my messages nor calls. I woke up the following day with new bites, I washed everything, had to buy sprays And I'm worried if the badbugs spread at my home😔

I strongly recommend you to not stay here for your own safety. I was traveling alone in Venice as a Asian woman. I stayed in here from 2024, Sep, 10, Tuesday and planned to stay until Friday. On Wednesday, I was at the lounge of the hostel, the staff from the hostel sexually harrassed me by asking me if I want to have a sex with him. He even told me that he has extra room in this hostel if I need the private place for having sex with him. He said 'You're so sexy', 'I like your face and ... (Pointing to the chest area with the hand)' , 'I really like Chinese, Japanese, Koreans' to me. I was seriously uncomfortable by his questions and approaching. I had to leave and move to the another accomodation on Wednesday because I couldn't feel safe and comfortable in that situation. This hostel needs fair redress, such as dismissal, for the employee who committed sexual harassment as well. I got apologized by the manager of the facility sincerely and got a full refund, but I had to leave this comment for preventing further incident, letting people become more careful about this and securing safety for everyone.

My room had biting insects. Someone said they were bed bugs and that is plausible based on bites. I took all my clothing and supplies to laundry to disinfect and use heat treatment. Not cool! Bed was not comfortable at all! Staff (hotel and booking.com) never responded to me about refund or early cancellation. If I had to do over, it was not worth the bug bites or stress of bugs coming home with me.

The hotel inside is kind of “old school “. As we stayed for 1 night is not a problem, even interesting.

Is great location in Venice. You have no problem to left the baggage if needed.

-There was a power cut in the house one evening so I couldn’t charge my phone. -Only 2 shower rooms for that amount of people can be problematic if you’re on a tight schedule. -They did not give me the *name of the street* to find the place, which is insane (I had to find it on google). How can you not give guests the name of the street!!!! As a result, I wandered around the little streets of Venice for 1h carrying a suitcase to find their location.

The staff is friendly, the price is fair and the location is great. Simple place with comfy bed. Good value for money.

The hostel's location couldn't be better—it's right in the heart of everything! By Rialto market and bridge! The atmosphere is authentic and full of character, excellent terrasse truly reflecting the local vibe. The staff is incredibly friendly and always ready to help, making the stay even more enjoyable.
