I do not recommend walking anywhere from the property. VERY narrow margins along roads with stone walls and many blind spots. A local man actually tried to give us a ride since he said we were not safe. So many restaurants with a short drive. Lucca is only 10 minutes away so just drive and save your walk for the famous walls!

Beautiful relaxing property. A helpful friendly staff that exemplified generous goodwill. And Bruno's breakfast was wonderful. A great assortment of sweet and savory. It is simple food taken to another level with really great ingredients and cooked with care. I never thought l would be that impressed by a simple plate of scrambled eggs. Cannot wait to return next year.

A car is needed to get to Lucca

Excellent location nearby Lucca with nice, recently renovated facilities in a large country garden setting. Rooms are neat and recently decorated with care. Good parking possibilities on-site. Concept of large shared kitchen, living room and library rooms works well. Exceptionally good breakfast, freshly prepared every morning !

Nothing bad to say. Only that it was a long walking distance to Lucca centrum, so we recommend taxi or private car. The roads are not safe for walking or with bicycles.

It was the perfect place to travel for a quiet family holiday. The staff was amazing, specially Marco was very helpful during our stay. The food was good and homemade, pool was clean and with salt water, nice big outside green nature area. The rooms were big, clean and comfortable. You can borrow bikes for free and go for a ride through the farms and nature area.

Quiet getaway. Clean, good air conditioning. Breakfast is amazing spread of local fare plus eggs etc. to order if you want them. Staff and owner very friendly and polite. Several local restaurants quite close, one within walking distance. Short drive to Lucca.

Hard to think of anything.

Great location within easy reach by bike, car or bus of Lucca, an historic Tuscan walled city. Well worth spending time there. Several nice restaurants within easy walking distance of the property. Nice grounds with plenty of seating for relaxation. Spectactular entrance drive covered with wisteria. The breakfast spread was nothing short of sensational with a chef on hand to cook anything required beyond the cold spread. The host Marco was very attentive and helpful. All staff couldn't be more helpful. We will definitely visit again.

Marco and his team were very accommodating from the very beginning. We were guided to great restaurants and surroundings to visit. We even received a lovely surprise when we arrived at our dinner reservation which Marco organised for us. The rooms were super clean and comfortable. The food (both breakfast and dinner) was amazingly fresh and bountiful. I look forward to going back and using the pool and garden when the weather gets warmer. Thank you :)

Hot water took a while to get warm. No blinds on some windows. There seemed to be an issue with the staff. One lady was in tears and wasn’t friendly. Also some confusion with breakfast orders.

Nothing at all, everything was perfect, from the venue to the staff to the beauty of it all!

We had the most wonderful, exceptional stay at Ai Santinelli. The staff can not do enough for you, Marco the owner was extremely friendly and always available either there or on the phone to help us with absolutely everything we needed. Bruno and Andrea were fabulous too, welcoming, helpful, friendly. We really felt like royalty! The breakfast was truly amazing, very friendly chef. All the staff seem so happy to work there. The room was gorgeous, quiet, super comfortable with beautiful toileteries. The place is quite isolated which makes it exceptionally relaxing, you need a car or a short taxi journey to go to Lucca but it is part of the character of the place. There are some nice restaurants within walking distance. We will definetely go back, thank you everyone!

The terrace for our apartment could do with a freshen up, but it was nice nonetheless. Also, I'm very fussy when it comes to coffee so would always prefer a proper coffee rather than a pod type which was in the appartment. Having said that, moka coffee was available at breakfast, so it was fine! Only other gripe (which I imagine has come from previous negative feedback) is that the cleaners turned on all of the lights everytime they clean. I can understand why, since it makes the appartment more homely, but from a sustainability perspective that annoyed me.

Absolutely adored this place. The very essence of pure tranquility, the grounds are awesome, so lush, green and spacious. Great sized pool and comfy sunloungers that you're not battling for. On the edge of Lucca, its really easy to get into the centre (I'm told there is a direct bus but we drove in and parked outside of the wall). The apartment was so lovely, clean, fresh and cool. Great little kitchen area too. Beds were extremely comfortable and I don't think I've ever slept so well on a holiday! Breakfast is great, with a good selection (which varies daily) and the cooked eggs can be tailored to your preference (and the mushroom accompaniment is incredible). Breakfast is served in a bequtiful al fresco area under shelter. Some evenings there are set meals you could enjoy, which I would absolutely recommend. Marco and the team are absolutely incredible - so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Ottman in particular was a complete sweetheart. Always chirpy and chatty. He helped us get the bikes set up to go out for a lovely bike ride in the local area (which I recommend).
