Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyThere's nothing I didn't like. I was impressed and happy with everything.
I liked literally everything of Terazzini, great location, the style of this hotel is simply beautiful, a good mix of old and modern .. our room was big, clean with all comforts and the breakfast was amazing a big selection of sweet and savory buffet...last but not least the lady at the reception was lovely, she showed some highlights of matera on the map ..all so good at a reasonable price , highly recommended this place

I cannot recommend this place enough! The location was perfect, smack down in the middle of Matera. The terrace where we could hang out (available for all guests) had the cutest view, and everything (bars, restaurants) was available by foot. The rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast was perfect, and the people working there were beyond hospitable. The tips for restaurants and things to do were spot on! I would 100 per cent come back.

Big and clean rooms. The design was simple but allowed for a classic Matera experience. Christina was extremely helpful during our stay. she helped organized car park, porters for our luggage and an Ape tour.

MaltaNothing to complain about
A very nice experience, this b&b is located in the Sassi of Matera. Very quiet, peaceful, picturesque area of this beautiful city. It was a priviledge to wake up and open the door to the terrace to find yourself immersed in this historical location. Ours was a family room, it was very clean, very nicely decorated with tasteful terracotta tiles. There was a choice of sweet, savoury items for breakfast as well as fruit and yoghurt. We couldn't have asked for more.

The staff at Ai Terrazzini are ever so helpful and amicable! The room is spacious and cool however the ceiling flakes onto the bed and floor! Location is very good as its close to restaurants in the sassi and offers a lovely walk without having to climb stairs and steep hills.

ThailandThe mattress cover gave me the "uncomfortable sleep" as it was like sleeping on the plastic sheet even if you've got the linen.
Location couldn't have been better however Ms.Annamaria (2 thumbs up) and Ms.Rosita the front office staffs have made my stay one of the most memorable journeys🥰

United StatesOne small issue with the cave dust peeling from the bathroom ceiling and around the vanity mirror landing in the sink and floor and any open containers you have in the bathroom especially after showering. Making sure the bathroom fan is on to reduce this.
The reception, breakfast area, outdoor sitting terrace areas, and room were great! Just like the pictures. It was pretty cool staying in a cream colored cave room with modern amenities especially in the bathroom. The outside terrace area with small table and chairs just outside the room as well as the area in front of the B&B all tranquil. Great location to access the old town and walk up the stairs to get to the new town. Highly recommend the ape tour set up by the host/reception to take you around the areas to get you acclimated right away so you know where everything is to later explore on your own. There is a lot of walking on uneven roads, up and down hills/ramps and multiple staircases in Matera so better to know where you are going. Breakfast is delicious with kind service. At night the sassi is illuminated with strategic outdoor lighting and the sapphire sky just steps from the front gate. It’s magical.

ItalyWhat I did not like that the room smelled like sewers when we entered it and the next day too. There’s no air flow in the bathroom and that’s effecting it badly,Also they were not clear about all the extras we had to pay for. The receptionist told us to use the mini fridge and she will bring more if needed but she did not say itd be extra on the bill. Usually it’s the first thing they would tell you.
The location of the hotel, the staff were very friendly breakfast was excellent.

United KingdomWe sometimes had to wait at reception quite a while.
Amazing location right in the heart of everything. A small but fabulous private terrace with an amazing view. Two large double rooms with direct access onto the central terrace where we could order pre-dinner drinks from the friendly staff. The breakfast was great, lots to choose from and the waitress remembered our coffee order from the first day throughout our stay.

IrelandIt should have been made clear on the initial webpage that you cannot drive to the hotel as it is in a pedestrian area - and if you do drive to the hotel you will have incurred an unnecessary hefty fine. It is too late to be informed of this by email when you are already checking in at the hotel.
