Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe beds were pretty flimsy and they jiggled/shoot whenever you turn over.
The location is excellent, a stone's throw from the main piazza and the duomo (as the name says). The staff was friendly. The breakfast was fine, typical Italian breakfast with cornetti, coffee.

United KingdomWe booked a standard room and I have honestly never stayed in a room so grim (on both sides, we slept with our neighbours toilet flushing all night - paper thin walls!) we asked to change which the hotel did and the room was so much better, it made no sense to me as the hotel was basically empty - our whole experience would have been so much more enjoyable had we not stayed in that particular room the first night. Overall good hotel
Location is amazing and the hotel is easy to find once you’re there. Parking is also included which is a huge plus.

United KingdomMy room was so hot I could barely sleep. They provide a desk fan but it didn’t do much to stop the heat. Also for €8 breakfast was meh
Location is great, seems to be right in the centre of the town. Receptionist was nice and the room was spacious. Good shower

AustraliaIt is a steep climb from the bus stop. A distance of only 460m. Not a problem for the young but beware of this if you don’t like steep inclines. The whole town is hilly.
Helpful receiptionist and beds were comfortable. Plenty of space for two single travelers.

NetherlandsThe bathrooms are very small - especially the shower. There is no aircon, but a fan. Non-pork cold-cut options on the breakfast buffet were very limited.
It's a nice standard hotel you get what you pay for. We had a nice silent room to the back with a view of the courtyard.

United KingdomFridge didn’t work, no air con, bottled water or hot water facilities, only polystyrene cups from the bathroom. The cleaners need to stand in the shower cubicle to see what dirt the guests see whilst using, a toothbrush would do it.
Fabulous location, reception and communal corridors lovely with marble floors.

United StatesThe bathroom was tiny, rooms could use updating. When we arrived the mini-fridge had to be unplugged to plug in the AC unit, as there was only one receptacle to accommodate both.

KazakhstanThere were no air conditioning, only a window.
The hotel is located at the top of the city next to Piazza Grande where the Twilight New Moon was filmed. The hotel has a lift so you don’t need to carry your heavy luggage. The bed was pretty comfortable, the bathroom was clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. I had an early train, so they helped me to book a taxi.

United StatesOur room had no AC (which was advertised, the fan worked OK - just be aware not all rooms have AC guaranteed). The bathroom was not the cleanest - there was old mold at the bottom of the shower. Beds were just OK for comfort. There are not many plugs close to the bed (only on one side).
Fantastic location. I always choose this hotel for one reason - the Twilight cast used it for hair/make up while filming New Moon.

ArgentinaWe arrived at the place with 35 degrees of heat at night and we could not use the refrigerator in the room due to the nauseating smell it had inside. There was no response from the accommodation despite having notified and asked for help since we could not cool our Drinks. The room had a bad smell and the bathroom was excessively small. We do not recommend it.

United StatesThe bathroom was extremely cramped and not clean. There was a significant amount mold growing on the folding doors to the shower, it was very gross. The bathroom itself was very out dated, tiny, and had bad ventilation. The drain wouldn’t drain properly so you were standing in a pool of water and had to take short showers otherwise it would overflow. You could barely turn around in it because of how small it was. It reminded me of an airplane bathroom. One of our towels was stained in the room when we got there. The bed consisted of two mattresses put together and they dipped in significantly in the middle. The entire night my husband and I kept rolling into the middle of the bed because of how much they were sinking in the middle. It was very uncomfortable and I didn’t really get much sleep because of it. The staff was alright, not overly warm and welcoming and they did struggle to give local recommendations. You have to go into the hotel to get all the parking information which was pretty inconvenient as the city itself is super tiny. The city doesn’t have anywhere to leave the car for free in order to do that and you can’t drive to the front of the property without a permit because it’s in a restricted area and you could get fined. They also have a ridiculous “no eating in the room” rule. I have never seen that anywhere I’ve stayed and it really made my wonder why they have that rule. Do they have an issue with bugs or rodents? Overall not worth the price.
The location was amazing. It was right in the center of one of the main plazas. Plenty of restaurants and wine tasting rooms within walking distance.

United StatesThe mini refrigerator was not working but we didn't use it so it was not an issue for my stay. Also, you need euros to pay the city tax which was about 2 euros per night, CASH ONLY. I was forced to find an ATM closely and withdrawal funds to cover the tax. I also needed to purchase some water bottles which was CASH ONLY. The patio area was not yet cleaned up and in use which would have been nice to use. The elevator was small, and we needed to go up separately to accommodate luggage, without luggage it fit 2-3 people.
I visited Montepulciano because of its relationship to the Twilight New Moon Filming location. When I booked the hotel, I chose it for the proximity to the clock tower which is on the same block!! I had no idea that the stars stayed in this very hotel when shooting; this was an unexpected surprise!! The hotel has pictures of the cast while at the hotel in the lobby. I would definitely come back and stay in this hotel for any future travel needs! The room was spacious, comfortable, and right in the town square! I was absolutely giddy with my stay! Book here for the ultimate connection to Twilight! The city was gorgeous; even my non-twilight inspired friend enjoyed the scenery and thought it was breathtaking.

SwitzerlandOur double bed was a merging of two single beds which we did not like very much. Also the bathroom was super crammed/squished. Generally it is a bit old but it did not really bother us much since it was clean.
The location is perfectly in the center of Montepulciano and the price is relatively low. There is everything needed available in the room including shampoos. The hotel provides a close by car park which is great and you could also enter the inner city to not carry your luggages uphill.
