The shower was tiny, and the shower head pointed towards the wall which made showering very awkward. Whenever we showered, it was inevitable that water was going to go all over the bathroom floor.

Perfect location, spacious rooms. Breakfast was very very good. Bartender in the rooftop bar was lovely.

The hotel needs some maintenance. Rooms were nice but the hallways, stairs, fountains show the age of the hotel. The central air conditioning shuts off for 2 hours early every morning making the room warm and less comfortable to sleep in.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. The location of the hotel is perfect. Easy access to the surrounding sights.

We struggled a bit to find the place which is at the higher level of the town and on a very narrow street which is no entry except for guests. We didn’t see the ‘except for guests’ bit until our second time round! Unfortunately the local bars with music were very loud until midnight.

The accommodation is amazing with lots of objets d’ art in its somewhat faded grandeur. Overlooking the sea and with a terrace our room was very nice (we had been upgraded it seems) Very nice and much frequented roof bar and terrace. Breakfast included and you could take the food outside if it pleased you. Taormina we think was the best part of our holiday! From here we also went to see Savoca where some of the Godfather filming took place.

lack of air conditioning before 15 th June . there was a great deal of late evening noise floating up from below which we couldn’t block out by shutting the windows and shutters as it was too hot.

The furniture, interior decor & rooms are tired. It doesn’t need much and only needs slight modernisation. To bring it from the poor relation of 3* hotels, to a really good 3* hotel.

location location location !! perfect location, just off Corso Umberto, we had top floor balcony rooms with a view of the Greco Theatro, through the town & bay all the way to Mt Etna with everything in between. the hotel & rooms are eclectic in style, tired yes, dated yes. But, very clean. there are lots of random statues ornaments and pictures - all of the pictures are hung at different heights and none are hung straight, but that made it interesting (for us at least) However, it showed us that back in its heyday this hotel was probably something pretty special. It’s big, with lots of areas (card tables, disused bars and seating areas) there are outside communal seating areas -again with the views!! The linens & towels were changed daily, rooms cleaned daily. The staff were all friendly and polite- we did note previous comments of rudeness, but during our stay can say with complete honesty that, no one was rude and the staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful! we had a very early train to catch to Siracusa and asked for a bagged breakfast, it was provided with juice cartons, water, cakes, crackers, rolls and jams with disposable cutlery. our first morning down to breakfast on first look, didn’t think there was a lot there, it does look sparse but actually wasn’t. There was a good selection of cold meats, cheeses, boiled eggs and fruit - disappointingly not fresh (that was my only gripe) and rolls, croissants, biscuits, tarts and cakes with occasional pancakes. There was cereal yoghurts & jams as well. with teas coffees & juice. we realised (late) you could request cappuccino. You could stay there and keep eating from 7.30 - 10am if you wanted! The guys are constantly clearing away & replenishing the food. There are trays provided to eat on the large balcony overlooking the bay. Beds were comfy, but I have to agree with previous comments - the singer at the restaurant/ bar below, not connected to the hotel ………..

It would have made the stay perfect to have a fridge and tea making facilities and some glasses rather than plastic ones.

Fabulous views and great central location. Main Street just below hotel, an easy walk down a few steps, with restaurants shops etc. Staff organised taxi to and from train station and shuttle and tickets to beach club.

The shower head was faulty, it sprayed out in different locations. Also it would be great if they could have offered a pick up service from Giardini train station or even the centre of Taormina.

The staff were great, very helpful. We loved the breakfast selection. Fruit and yoghurt was included and often Italian hotel breakfasts don’t include those.

The room has not any soundproofing: there is a cafe near the hotel and we listened to live music up to 2 a.m. in our room.

No kettle or tea & coffee making facilities in the room; the room was quite cold at times especially the bathroom; the balcony was behind another balcony from next door & thus not much privacy; everything was a bit old & old fashioned though it did have character.

The room was big; breakfasts were good though rather pastry heavy; the views from the roof terrace were tremendous; the staff were generally helpful though the language barrier was bit of a problem sometimes; short distance from the shopping area.

It has aged and the shower and bath were difficult and a bit dangerous to get in and out of. It was hard to control the shower not getting the floor wet and slippery.

The location and the view was excellent. The roof top bar was lovely and the breakfast in the morning was very good especially the pastries. The staff at the desk was so helpful. Simone was the best and we thank him!

The room was very small, no fridge, bed blanket was very old, the balcony was very small and the bathroom was old. Breakfast was rather poor for the total price you pay for the room.
