Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BelgiumChecking in was a bit tedious, as we had to wait for the doorman to open up after calling the hosts. This could've been arranged better. We didn't receive new towels after the room was cleaned.
Great location, a short walking distance from Vatican City and close to a well-connected bus stop. The room was basic but comfortable.

SpainThe bed was too hard. The lighting of the room was not good, and the windows were small and the room was not really ventilated. The location was far from the center.
The bathroom was big and with plenty of towels available. There was coffee and biscuits. The man who handed us the keys was very nice and helpful, even though he only spoke italian.

NetherlandsIf you want to cook, the kitchen is not properly equipped. It wasn't an issue for us as we ate out and only had breakfast inside. For that, you have anything you need.
The place is really close to the Vatican on a small quiet street. You have nice restaurants close by, supermarkets, and different shops. The room was a very good size and clean. So was the bathroom.

IrelandThe first room we were offered wasn't the one we had booked, and the hot water stopped on our last night and didn't return. We felt a bit let down, as we had to wait around 15 minutes to get into the property. Additionally, we couldn't pay the city fee by card because we were told the card machine was broken. We spent four nights at the property, and the towels were only changed on our last night.
Perfect location, AC was working, good value for money, as the first room offered was different from the one we booked, he gave us the option to change rooms, there is a frigobar in the rooms and the bathroom is spacious.

Czech RepublicSome of the dishes we would like to use were not in the shared bathroom (e. g. Cutting board) and extremely loud main door and AC.
The location is perfect, it’s also very convenient to get there. Cleaning every day + once even changed towels, we were bot expecting that. Fridge in the room. Perfectly working wifi.

ItalyThe ventilation/windows could have been better maintained. There was a cold draft blowing in even though the windows were shut. There is no phone signal inside the room so you're really reliant on the Wi-Fi.
Great location, just a few minutes away from St. Peter's Basilica. Smooth check in and check out. Clean and spacious room. Special mention to Giuseppe, who was extremely friendly and helpful, and helped put us immediately at ease!

BelgiumThe main door is very noisy and other guests were not always very discreet.. Alessia should maybe add something to reduce the noise of the main door and the metallic fence.
Good location (we did everything by foot, but we are good walkers) and easy check-in ! The room was clean and practical. We had a very nice stay

CanadaAlessia reached out asking if we would like additional services and then never responded when we asked for some. We had booked for two beds and there was some trouble over getting the second bed the first night. The room was quite a bit smaller than I had expected.
There was no breakfast. A kettle was provided in the room if you wanted tea. There was a Nespresso machine in the common area but no pods provided. We did find a little coffee shop around the corner for coffee and a croissant. The location was perfect for visiting Vatican City or if you are not worried about walking a bit to other attractions.

ItalyThe wall were a bit thin so you'd hear the other people's noise. The bathroom sometimes smelled like a sewer but nothing unbearable with an open window. The neighborhood was peaceful so no problem with that.

SwitzerlandThe coffee machine was not functioning. Not much daylight, as the rooms are situated in the ground floor with small windows, but this was not a problem, as we were usually outside during the day.
Great location near Vatican, friendly staff (special thanks also for the cleaning service), very good facilities (air conditioners, fridge, tea, hair dryer, towels etc.), nice clean room. Breakfast available in a cafè nearby.

GeorgiaVery poor WiFi connection. Almost not working.
The ROOM was very clean and comfortable with a private bathroom with towels and toiletries. Also, tea and coffee were provided, you could make one with an electric kettle. The LOCATION is great, near Vatican City. A lot of supermarkets and lovely cafes around. A lovely breakfast was included in the nearby cafe - Coffee, croissant, and juice. you could also add some delicious sandwiches or salads at a really low price. We texted the host from the airport, she notified the doorman and we did not have any issue finding or entering the property.

MaltaShower might need some updating as it is small, and the sliding door was broken. The walls between each room is thin, but nothing to complain about. Would be more concerned that people from the outside of the room, in the hallway, would be annoyed by the 'noise'.
Staying at Affittacamera Alessia & Calliope was great. Location was exceptional, just 3 minutes walk from the Vatican City, and out of the hustle and bustle of the main streets of Rome. Room was comfortable and clean, and facilities inside were adequate. The breakfast bar recommended by the accommodation is delicious, putting you right into the Italian local feel, with great service, delicious pastries and lovely atmosphere. Although we did not pay for the breakfast, the owner of the accommodation gave us free vouchers to use for our first morning there.
