Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Walls are very thin so you can hear your neighbours. There was no electric outlet in the bathroom. Very very very low water pressure in the shower.
Amazing location, very warm, the staff was very helpful, the room was very clean and welcoming. You can leave your luggage when you are done with the room which is a nice option. There is free drinking water in the fridge waiting for you, and a coffee machine to use- very nice touch.

Nothing to complain about, the room matches it's description.
We stayed for just one night, so everything was nice. The bed was comfortable. The location is 10-15 mins walk from the main attractions.

The mattress is a bit soft for my preference, but still comfortable.
The location is excellent, just an 8-10 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge. There are plenty of local bars, coffee shops, and restaurants nearby. We were warmly welcomed by Elisa, who explained everything and even sent us some great recommendations for local restaurants. The room isn’t new, but it’s comfortable, well-furnished, and has everything you need for a short stay. We were pleasantly surprised by the daily room service.

Another transport strike on morning of departure – not the hotel's fault, but still a bit painful. But that's all part of the experience, hey?
Small hotel hidden among the maze of Venice streets in a non-tourist neighbourhood. Good communication with owners who come to meet you on arrival. Due to a train strike, I arrived later than expected – no problem at all for them. Still easy to walk to all the sights

All in all very good. Nothing in particular we didn't like that i's worth mentioning. If anything, while the bed was comfy, it could of course always be a tad comfier.
Great location in a calmer neighborhood! Comfortable bed, and our room had three windows, a bathtub, refrigerator and decent AC. (Note: I don't think all rooms had windows and/or) bathtubs). Decently clean and seemed well kept. Great service and both the owners and cleaning people were very accommodating, helpful and friendly!

There is only one plug for the small fridge and coffee machine, and it is difficult to access. Even if you have your own multi-charger, you can't make coffee while charging.
The location was great, with easy access to the boat. It is within walking distance of busy nightlife but not in the middle. I loved our stay in Venice; we were on the top floor. looking down the street.

The room needs some renovation - it looks quite dated and wasn’t very clean. Our room was located on the ground floor and there was basically no daylight.
Great location, close to the port and water bus, and within walking distance to the city centre. Fair price :)

My shower had a tendency to flood. You hear squishing noises when you step on the bathroom floor, indicating that water is directly below, and it rises above it very easily. I’m sure this is a design feature but it meant wet socks every time I went near the bathroom door later in the night.
The hosts were communicative and helpful. They WhatsApped me detailed recommendations specific to my preferences and what was happening in Venice at the time. All facilities were perfectly serviceable and the location was tucked away, homely and serene.

When we first arrived we didn’t have any coffee pods for our coffee machine and the TV didn’t work. However, the next day we had a refill of the coffee pods but didn’t bother about TV as we were always out.
The location was excellent, close to the port and local bars and restaurants. A short 20 minute walk to the centre.

There was mold in the shower, both above the cabin and within the cabin doors. Also multiple hairs were found that weren't ours, in the bathroom and in the linnen of the bed.
Location was good, staff was nice. What's app contact is helpful.
