Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The B&B was in a perfect location, excellent value for money with breakfast included and room was clean and comfortable. My room was a very roomy and a beautiful modern bathroom. Easy parking available for free on the streets surrounding the property. The host Simone was beyond helpful with suggestions on activities in the area, highly recommend if visiting the area

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at B&B Ancora del Sud. The room was spotless and beautifully decorated, offering a perfect blend of comfort. The amenities provided was exceeding our expectations, making our stay both enjoyable and memorable. A special mention goes to the landlord, "Simone" the kindest person in Otranto 🙏 and also to Maria who prepared some delicious breakfast for us 🙏" and whose hospitality was truly exceptional. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, offering personalized recommendations and assistance throughout our stay. Their genuine warmth and attention to detail made us feel incredibly welcome and well-cared for. We highly recommend "B&B Ancora del Sud" to anyone seeking a top-notch experience. We will definitely be returning on our next visit!

Nothing for us but be careful if you dont like stairs as it is a climb to the apartment from the entrance

Well-situated apartment in Otranto. Everything was close by. The room was cleaner than I have ever experienced, and everything smelled wonderful. The owners are very kind and helpful. I can only recommend this accommodation.

The host was amazing - looked after us so well. Walking distance to the walled town - Simone was so helpful and enthusiastic about his local area. He sorted our parking, places to eat, took and interest in our trip and made our visit that bit more special.

Location is an easy 5 minute walk to the old town, nice little spread of croissants, yoghurt, fruit, biscuits, spreads and coffee and tea for breakfast. Very accommodating host who let me check in early, gave good recommendations for sights to see and places to eat, and was generous enough to give me a lift to the train station when I was leaving.

The train station is 1.2km distance, half of which is uphill. Some ambient noise from next room.
Great value. Nice roof terrace. Lovely responsive hosts. Few minutes to old town and lots of restaurants. Some great hiking spots nearby, accessible without a car.

Everything was absolutely perfect
Other guests have written that this place is exceptional. Infact it's exceptionally exceptional !! I have never encountered such genuine and sincere hospitality as I did at Ancora del Sud. The building has recently been tastefully and elegantly renovated and every detail has been taken care of. My room had an extremely comfortable mattress and pillows which I really appreciated and the bathroom was amazing with the BEST shower! You've also read about the breakfast but you have to see it to believe it. Simone's mother is an expert at home made pastries which are served along with fresh fruits, juices, yoghurts (even lactose free), muesli and lots and lots more. In addition there is fresh fruit with tea and coffee making facilities available during the day, all of which you can enjoy on the roof terrace. Simone , Marie and Simone's delightful mother make you instantly feel welcome and in fact it was almost like visiting family! Such goodness. I absolutely loved staying at Ancora del Sud and highly recommend it. As an extra bonus , Simone can provide information about boat trips so just ask : the accommodation far exceeded my expectations and the proximity to the historic area was fantastic. Exceptionally exceptional !

Outside it is sometimes very loud, because the mainroute.

There's some traffic noise,which is to be expected since the room faced a fairly central street, and during my stay also TV/music from neighbors,laundry machine running late in the evening in the hallway.At night it was quiet so noise was not a big concern during my stay.
Recently,beautifully renovated,spacious,clean room just a few minutes walk away from the old town.My room and bathroom got plenty of daylight.The bathroom is big and chic.Wifi worked well.Nice roof terrace.

There was a street lamp across the street but I may not have figured out the blind/dark curtain situation.
The facilities are clean, breakfast is delicious (with homemade contributions!), and host is accommodating and helpful (helped with late check in, hold luggage, answered all my questions and made recommendations b/c the questions were not stop). I felt safe and taken care of. There is also a rooftop space !

Everything. This accomodation is perfect for solo or couple travellers. The host is also magnificent. He was easy to communicate with, he also gave me plenty of tips for restaurants and directions around the local area. I’ll be definitely staying here on my next visit to Otranto!

26 stairs to room. Room allocated not big enough for 2 persons with suitcases and hand luggage.

This well-located apartment is wonderful. It’s clean and quiet. Breakfast was terrific. I appreciated having access to the kitchen. Wifi is lightening fast. The host is exceptional.
