Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

This is the second time we've rented a room here. I like everything, good location, sea view, room facilities, Francesca is very friendly and solves all issues during your stay. I can only recommend this guest house.

My boyfriend and I had a magical and dreamy time in Tropea. The accommodation was perfect for what we wanted, a little bit of privacy but not far from the glistening waters and wonderful beaches, a short walk away via the lungomare. We were also lucky enough to have a room with sea view and balcony where we had our breakfast and delicious watermelon in the evenings :) Francesca is a wonderful host, always available if you need anything, the place is really clean and quiet, we also made use of the kitchen a couple of nights for some light fresh meals as we stayed a full week. Cannot recommend enough and, if we go back, I will chose the same place (if it is available:). A million thanks Francesca from me and Serage!

The lamp in toilet was not working well but Francesca reponded very politely and even told me it was fixed even I checked out. Lovely girl!
Spacious! Nice view and Francesca is very nice and very responsive that helps millions!

Room was nice and clean,we had see view on first floor(2nd room probably had street view).Close to the location you find a Cafeteria and next to it it’s a pharmacy and also a small shop with tobacco and drinks. 5 minutes away on foot from beautiful beaches where you can watch one of the nicest sundowns with the volcano in sight.

Very impersonal. I met a member of staff once as the check in was done via WhatsApp. It was awkward as they had no idea who I was as my key had been left in a safety box outside. This was after receiving a message asking for the wrong amount for my 'city tax' as they'd processed a request for two people. You go to a bar for breakfast with a tatty voucher; there they don't give you everything on the voucher and the croissants have seen better days. It's a fair walk from the centre which can also be a nice thing if you're on foot.
The fridge was a nice touch.

I booked at the last minute and maybe should have done some more research, as the location is right on a busy road. I don't like aircon, so I left the windows open and next morning, the smell of traffic made me feel ill. I didn't see the garden, but the shared space had tables, even though you couldn't buy a drink there. I thought the facilities were minimal. I checked out the next morning and sadly lost all my money as they said it was unrefundable through booking.com.
Located close to both a long stair way down or windy road down, to the promenade, at the furthest end from the main beaches. Fantastic bars right on the beach. Aquamarina was a particular favourite, with great fresh cooked food and service. The old town is quite a walk from here, so transport would be needed maybe as the pathways are quite uneven and it's a big climb up to the town. Breakfast is at the bar over the road, great coffee and good croissant.

The host did not managed correctly situation with luck of water during our staying. I can accept, that it was not because of her, but I did not saw cooperation and even simple exuse. It was enough to show participation and looking for solution, but the host answered next morning only, when we left, asking to avoid negative feedback. Pity, because the rest was very good, but "customer care" is must for have positive score!
Nice location, very clean &new structure.
