Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsWas a little off the beaten path in a residential area, but it was still extremely close to the main part of town. Also my partner said there was a cockroach in the shower, but he removed it. Other than that it was very clean!
Owner was very sweet. Didn't speak much English which was fine because me and my partner both speak Italian. Rooms were cozy, and the bathroom had a towel heater which was much appreciated in December, and very nice toiletries! Fantastic price and location.

A great little place! I would definitely come back again. Very clean, beds comfortable, kitchen where you can cook. The railway station is very close. (unfortunately the circumvesuviana -Pompei Scavi - is a bit far, about 30 mins.) There's a supermarket nearby. And most of all the host, Marco is a wonderful person helping you in any way. (Grazie Marco)

United KingdomEven though I knew in advance about our private bathroom not being ensuite, it was still a little awkward having it opposite our room. Although it was only for us to use, we still felt a bit “watched” and uncomfortable because the breakfast/lounge room, the kitchen, and Marco’s office were all very close by, and so we were often seen going about our business. We could only shower in the evening when we knew nobody else was around.
It was very conveniently located near to the station and not too far to walk to the Pompei ruins too. Marco is a really great guy, and although he didn’t think his English is very good, it’s certainly better than my Italian!! Lovely host and good accommodation.

The stay at this delightful hotel in Pompeii was truly exceptional. The accommodation is a cozy, small space that feels very welcoming and well-kept. Its location is ideal, being just a short 5-10 minute walk from the high street and most of the major attractions, including a convenient 15-minute walk to the historic site of Pompeii's ancient ruins. The cleanliness of the accommodation stood out immediately. Everything was spotless and well-maintained, which greatly added to the comfort of the stay. The private bathroom was clean and well-equipped. The room also had a lovely balcony. The breakfast offered at the hotel was simple but satisfying, much like the typical offerings at most hotels. Additionally, the hotel offered fast and reliable internet. All the essential facilities were present, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with any needs. this hotel in Pompeii offers a wonderful combination of excellent location, cleanliness, and comfort. With its thoughtful amenities and outstanding hospitality. Highly recommended for those looking for a pleasant and convenient accommodation option in Pompeii.

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike everything was exceptional
Everything about this fantastic apartment I liked. Marco was an outstanding host and did everything and more for his guests. The apartment was spacious and exceptionally clean! It had its own balcony and a private shower/toilet across the hall. I say across the hall it was literally 2 strides outside the room door. There was a shared kitchen with everything you could possibly need within it including fridge, tea, coffee etc. Breakfast in the morning was a good selection of pastries, cereal, toast , and jams. With fruit juice, tea and coffee and cold bottled water. Again Marco would make sure you had everything you needed , The apartment is in new town Pompei and is a short walk to Pompeii ruins, it's close to bars , shops , restaurants and the train station is a 10 minute walk. I would definitely book an apartment here again and Marco is the friendliest most hardworking host I've ever come across. Keep up the good work Marco and if we come back to Pompeii we will definitely see you again.

United StatesMarco is the most excellent host, communicating through WhatsApp and meeting at the BandB. Everything thing was sparkly clean and the location is perfect for your stay in Pompei - everything walkable in the town and a 20 minute walk to meet our tour at the ruins. Breakfast had many choices and coffee. We are use to shared spaces, so the bathroom across the hall was not a problem - it was our own space with a key and very clean. Thank you Marco!

United KingdomMarco was very friendly and very forgiving of us being late! The room was big, very comfy and had a great balcony looking out onto the street. Breakfast was big and had everything we needed to start the day, and the B&B was in a handy location in the centre of Pompei but on a quiet street. Tip: if you're coming from Napoli, don't take the Circumvesuviana train as that made us very late! Marco told us it's a lot quicker to take the Trenitalia train from Napoli Centrale instead.

United KingdomPrivate bathroom was in the hallway. But it wasn't a big deal. I had my own key to my own bathroom and room. So everything was secure. It was just unusual for me.
The room was bright and light, and spotlessly clean. 5 min walk if that from everywhere. Shared kitchen with bottles of water etc. Light breakfast in the dining room. Shower space was big and again nice and clean. Marco was a great help when I arrived. Very friendly. And the BnB arranged a taxi to the airport for me when leaving.

United KingdomMaybe better pillows! The street can be a little noisy with local dogs barking and refuse collections (not the hotels fault!) but closing the external shutters to sleep cuts out a LOT of noise . (You might want to see the local church collectors in the street on Sunday morning however, beautiful singing as they went along the street collecting donations from those who hadn't made it to the church!) . Wonderful! Generally not much to dislike. We will return!
The owner Marco was very helpful in organising trips and giving us advice on where to go. The hotel is perfectly located for local shops, bars, restaurants and 3 train stations to take you to many other places. Breakfast was traditional Italian with pastries, coffee, fruit juice, toast etc. The rooms were large and spacious and the whole place was impeccably clean!

United KingdomThere really was not anything i didn't like. The bins are emptied around 4.30 in the morning, but if you pull your shutter down at night, it does muffle the sounds outside.
The location was perfect for getting around Italy, there are three train stations two of which are 5 minutes walk away, the other a 20 minute walk away. Marco was the perfect host, even though i didn't know Italian and Marco not too good with his English there were many conversations using his voice translator on his phone. Marco gave us lots of information of where to go, how to get there, and even ordered our tickets on line for us, and booked us into some nice restaurants to, Comfortable bed, and although it was not en suite, there is a bathroom for each apartment opposite your room. Pompei is a beautiful place to stay, i felt really safe on the streets, and the people are all very friendly. We visited the ruins in Pompei and Herculaneum, you need a full day for Pompei and half for Herculaneum. both very worthy of a visit. Naples Museum was a 5 minute walk from the train station. The street food tours was good, they do them in the day as well as the evening, worth the money and there's a history lesson from the guide too, ours cost £16 per person and we ate 6 different dishes. There are lots of bar/restaurants in Pompei, all within walking distance. I would definitely recommend going to Pompei, and if you stay at La Primula, say Hi from the Sheffield ladies x
