Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NorwayOur stay at Borgo Studiati was just perfect. Beautiful estate, large, quiet garden with super nice swimming pool. The owners and personnel were pleasant, helpful and friendly. Although we stayed in apartments, where we could have made our own breakfast, we still opted to buy at the main house and that was a pleasant experience in itself. Excellent food and the same with the atmosphere. One of our highlights during entire Tuscany vacation.

United KingdomThe only negative was the insect bites! With such beautiful gardens and plants, you have to expect the bugs.
We stayed here in July at the end of our Tuscan holiday for 2 nights, as we were looking for somewhere nearer to Pisa airport for our journey home. This is a beautiful property in a beautiful location, with the backdrop of the hills. It is close enough to Pisa though still feels like you are in secluded tranquil spot. Lucca is also very close by - we drove there in 20 minutes. The hosts are lovely and inviting. We enjoyed breakfast here on one morning and 2 evening meals served in the garden with fellow guests. The pool and gardens are superb and we enjoyed the table tennis and badminton. We stayed in one of the apartments on the grounds - the air conditioning was very welcome. Would highly recommend.

FinlandThe wifi connection was a poor one. It didn't matter so much as we stayed only one night.
Beautiful historic old building and surroundings. Friendly staff. Pretty close to Pisa airport by car.

Stunning historic building with so much charm. Gorgeous, extensive grounds. Large pool. Great breakfast and delicious dinners in the garden. Wonderful, kind hosts who could not have been more accommodating. Felt like a peaceful Tuscan paradise, yet still very close to all amenities, Lucca and Pisa.

TurkeyThere were no aspects of our visit that we disliked
We recently had the pleasure of staying at Borgo Studiati Relais in Lucca, which is wonderfully located and incredibly peaceful. The setting was serene, perfect for a family getaway. Although the pool was small, it was sufficient for our children to enjoy themselves, although the water was a bit on the chilly side. Nonetheless, we had a delightful time as a family and truly cherished our stay. Borgo Studiati Relais comes highly recommended for families looking for a tranquil retreat.

SpainOur apartment was a little musty but the AC got rid of it. Since this is a converted private residence, each apartment is different; some appear to be more recently renovated than others.
Authentic Italian villa with large private grounds and several apartments scattered about. Family run. Original art on the walls. A great place to "get away from it all" and spend the day at the pool, playing ping pong and badminton, and relaxing in the garden. The staff are friendly and engaging, and dinner and breakfast were delicious. A real find.

United StatesNot a thing.
Beautiful Villa property and ideally located next to Pisa and very close to Luca. We were surprised that the host held their restaurant open until we arrived just to make sure that we were able to have dinner even though we arrived after their closing time. The meal was amazing so we highly recommend that anyone staying at the property plan at least one evening that you take dinner on site.

RussiaNice villa in the heart of Tuscany, a lot of historical small towns around, sea in like 30 minutes drive, surrounded in vineyards and small roads, very lovely. Large private territory, good pool and space around, great to chill during hot mid-days. Owners are wonderful people, very intelligent and helpful, really making you feel you've visited your Tuscan friends rather that stayed in hotel. Wholeheartedly recommended!

United KingdomNOTHING ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!!! But just so people who aren't driving the buses/trains are not all day, so planning for traveling around is needed to be looked into beforehand. Please also remember this is a small Italian hamlet so only expect one local restaurant and mini shop which was perfect for us. :)
Borgo Studiati Relais exuded a captivating historic ambiance, immersing us in the beauty of Italy. If you are looking for somewhere remote within a beautiful landscape but still require accessibility to Lucca and Pisa via bus or train this place allows for easy exploration. For couples seeking a romantic and secluded Italian retreat, it is an enchanting haven. From the immaculately kept grounds to the alluring pool that offered moments of serenity amidst Tuscany's splendor, everything was simply flawless. The staff's warmth and hospitality added to the perfection of it all. A highlight was our anniversary dinner in the garden, a vegan culinary masterpiece under starlit skies. We recommend the local Pizzeria La Tavolaccia, delicious, affordable, and easily reached within 10 minutes of walking. (you must be ok walking on an actual road) Also, the historical trail gives the most breathtaking views of the mountains. (not for the faint-hearted!) Thank you to the owners and staff for one of the best memories ever made.

NetherlandsThe description of the accomodation stated that all guests of Borgo Studiati Relais can enjoy an Italian breakfast, but this only is the case when you stay in the villa, which is something we only found out after waking up and searching for the location where the breakfast was served. So, we walked into town (which is a 5 minute walk) and stumbled upon a small supermarket and butcher, where we bought some bread, butter and delicious meats. We also had a coffee near the church. The WiFi (none of the multiple networks) didn’t work properly in our apartment, although it did work very well at the swimming pool for example. The guests before us apparently didn’t clean the cutlery and plates properly, so we had to do the dishes ourselves before we could actually use those. I guess this is one downside of asking guests to clean up certain things after themselves.
We had a wonderful stay at Borgo Studiati Relais. We didn’t stay in the villa, but apparently booked one of the apartments. The apartment, however, had everything you could possibly wish for! We even were able to do our laundry. The whole estate, including the garden, swimming pool and dining area are very well-kept and beautiful. We had dinner here during our first evening for €35 per person (including water and wine), which we really enjoyed (we had a buffet with different kinds of dishes, cold cuts and salads, rather than a warm meal). The owners and staff were really kind and helpful. I hope we will be able to return some day!

RomaniaThe rooms are not like in the picture. Everything is really outdated, old. Ok for a museum but for sure not alligned with what the pictures are suggesting that will be found there. Deceiving advertisment ! The breakfast location, underground, with everyone at the same table, quite creepy. Garden is full of mosquitoes so mandatory to have some kind of repelent with you.
