Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JapanInitially we were allocated to the double room, not as requested of the twin room, even though I received a confirmation email of twin room. The receptionist changed the room straight away to the large double room (he mentioned that the bed will be arranged to 2 single bed next day). As the size of the double bed was large enough, so we offered that we use the room as it is. The tap of the washing basin was not properly fixed (water was ok to use) and we requested to fix it to the reception. However, the tap was not fixed while we stayed (3 nights). Overall, the value of the money is not too bad, the location is good and good breakfast served, on the other hand, the facilities of the room need to be checked and fixed.
Hotel Camelia is located around 10 minutes walk from Rome Termini station, however, it is much easier to get to the hotel if you use buses. Access to the local amenities, such as shops, cafes and restaurants, is good. Hotel Camelia has 24/7 reception which is convenient. We additionally ordered breakfast for 2 morning, where a good variety of food, not like traditional Italian breakfast, including eggs, ham, cheese etc., was served so we enjoyed the late starting of the day.

SerbiaNo shoehorn. Our room was next to elevator, and you could hear it.
Staff was kind and willing to help with questions and arranging taxi. Room was clean, bed comfortable. Location is good! You need to walk down the hill luckily for main attractions for about 20 mins.

AustraliaFaultless.
The rooms were beautifully appointed, the staff could not have been more helpful and the location was superb. It is a smaller but quiet hotel. For a woman travelling alone or older people it offer excellent security yet is quite close to the Termini train station and metro. Local restuarants are very Roman and within easy walking distance. Breakfast was beautifully prepared by very helpful ladies.

Tidy hotel at a reasonable price (for rome). Ideal if you don't mind a walk to the sites and aren't looking for a fancy hotel.

United KingdomI did not get a good room when i checked in. The room had strong smell of cleaning products. There was no ventilation in the room and no windows and the air conditioning filter was dirty so it was blowing out smelly air which made it worse and hard to breath. Room was also very small. But reception were very helpful and solved the problem and changed my room thankfully.
All the staff were generally very helpful and friendly. Fernandino and Gino from reception in particular were very helpful, accommodating and welcoming. I would rate the staff highly. Location of the hotel was also good with good links to metro and bus stations. Good coffee and resteraunts near by as well. Also there is a supermarket near by which is very convenient. I will definitely come back here if in Rome again.

United StatesI got nothing!
Location was better than expected! About a ten minute walk from Termini train station, but more away from the touristy areas. Area and walk back and forth from station felt very safe! Hotel was very clean and comfortable with coffee in the room. Staff was accommodating and friendly! Many food options nearby with patio dining available at most of them, giving the area even a safer feeling. We utilized the hop on, hop off bus system at the Termini station which was very convenient to see the sites! The Hotel Camelia was a very comfortable stay for our three day visit as it was close enough and far enough away from the Termini train station. I would return to this hotel for any future visits!

United Statesnothing to dislike
location was central to what we needed. But the day front desk supervisor was simply amazing and I wish I'd gotten his name. He helped us with taxis and directions and generally went out of his way to help. The A/C was ice cold and the room was very clean

CanadaCoffee was just okay. Shower water pressure was low and the shower head would not stay in the position you'd like it to. Hairdryer was a little difficult to use in my room, my friend's room had one that was perfect. Every time someone closes a door (including neighbouring rooms) it sounds like it's being slammed; almost impossible to close silently.
Neat and tidy, a lot of selection. Nice that there was a bathtub. AC/heat exchanger was easy to set.

BelgiumOne of the front desk people (tall, thin with glasses) was exceptionally rude. He was not accommodating on anything and it felt like he should not be manning the front desk of a reception in a hotel - upon check in he was abrupt and rude. It was just his style something unsuitable for someone going “hospitality” the other front desk people were nice but the one rotten egg left a really bad taste.
The property is reasonably priced and comfortable to sleep if you’re mostly out exploring Rome. It’s not modern or new so the furniture is old but it’s clean, the air conditioner functions well and they do check in on you to ensure you don’t need anything additional.

New ZealandRoom on the small size - finding space for my suitcase difficult. The shower / shower door set up in the ensuite was unusual. Communal room would be better having tea and coffee making facilities, and some cutlery and a rubbish bin. Some self service laundry facilities would have been great.
The breakfast was great, helpful staff. Location good, nice and central to the train station etc. Air conditioning great in bedroom. Good restock of ensuite supplies daily and fresh sheets. Loved the lemon water available.
