Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandKey was a bit tricky for Romeo room. Took a few goes to see that it only goes half way in to turn. We were in the room that was not ensuite but with a private bathroom which was fine but could mean you meet people having breakfast. Didn't happen for us. Could have left more than one coffee per person per day. Not really breakfast, just pre packed cakes and crackers.
Location was perfect, right beside lots of the attractions such as Arco dei Gravi and the Old Castle and minutes from the central squares and the Arena. Room was spacious, full of character with old furniture and very clean. Good value for money. Although on a busy road we slept very well. Bed was large and very comfortable. Small balcony if you want to have breakfast outdoors.

United StatesThe fact that they announced I had a PRIVATE bathroom and it turned out to be an outside bathroom with a signed that said private! The property didn’t even had a sink to rinse anything! So I can only assumed the other guests used MY PRIVATE bathroom to rinse their cups, glasses, etc
Great value

SloveniaAlthough the room has its own bathroom, the shower is tiny (if you're a bigger person, it's quite tight), it would be great if it had some ventilation since all the smells from the drains went to the bedroom (which i guess it's not really possible to do in an older building). We just opened the windows to circulate the air. It wouldn't hurt if there was a bigger curtain for the bathroom glass doors, just to keep the light from the bathroom a little contained during the night.
The bed is very comfortable. We slept well. We were in Tebaldo room which faced the inside of the building, so you couldn't hear any noise from the street. The building feels secure. It is in a great location with buses nearby, and everything was like 20 min away on foot. You have a packaged breakfast ready in a basket and some drinks in the fridge (you must pay them). Directions to the building and how to get the key with codes were great. No problems at all. Overall, it was a good stay.

Room was really nice, the apartment has an antique look with beautiful furniture. Wifi was good, did find the doors (of which there are four before you're in your room) slightly daunting there's a bit of a twist and pull with old doors. Private bathroom is across the common area and breakfast is just snacks rather than a fresh breakfast but balcony was nice and the room was relatively quiet, it faces out onto a main street so it can be loud but can't be helped. Location is fantastic, 3 minute walk to the amphitheater.

GermanyThe window was on the side of the paved street where many cars go so it was quite noisy. But that's the only negative thing about this accommodation.
Lovely room at the heart of Verona. I was able to check-in on my own and also leave my luggage after checking out. Everything was very clean.

IrelandHad originally booked a room with ensuite bathroom but got a room with exterior one, not a huge deal, understand it's best to give couples ensuite. Found the entry system a little tricky but got there in the end. I would stay st the property again but only if bathroom ensuite.
Loved the location, couldn't have been better. Air conditioning ideal for sleeping.

GreeceThe shower was really small , I could hardly fit in. The whole building had a strange smell, probably from humidity. The biggest disappointment was the “breakfast”. Everything was packaged (cookies, cake, cereal bar) and nothing salty. Only the fruit was a healthy choice. At least it could be mentioned in the hotel’s amenities that there is no kitchen, so that people don’t have expectations.
Great location, nice antique decoration which suits perfectly the antique aesthetic of Verona. We also met the owner, he was very kind and helpful.

NorwayThe location is perfect. The room is really pretty, clean and the bed is really comfortable. The communication with the owner is also great. Just the shower is a little bit small, but for me this is not a big thing, it is a great price/quality room.

United KingdomUnfortunately I was unable to connect to the wifi in my room. I was able to connect to the wifi in the breakfast area, but service was patchy from my room. The bathroom had a heavy sliding door that was difficult to open and close. Also - be warned that the shower cubicle was quite small and I'm an average sized woman! If you are bigger or tall you might find it restrictive.
Casa Esvael is located in a beautiful old apartment, and the room size and decor reflected this. Gorgeous Murano glass light fittings in the room and the breakfast area. The bed was very comfortable. The room had shutters which was great as I could block out the early morning light. Location was good - it was easy to get a bus from the train station, and it was a short walk to the old part of town. It is also just a short walk to museums, the river and lots of nearby restaurants. It was nice to have coffee, fruit and snacks provided. Luigi was very friendly and welcoming!

ItalyThe bathroom. I booked the room with private internal bathroom, but the door is a glass one, that doesnt completely close - so yeah, it is not as private as expected. Also, the shower box is really small, and the shower heat itself doesnt work so well, as it stopped heating randomly as I was bathing. Also, the water boiler in the common room was not clean enough, so I stayed only with the juice for breakfast.
First, the staff was very nice. I made the reservation at 9pm on the day before, and they contact me to know the time I was going to reach the B&B, and also they let me checkin early. Was received by Luigi, a very polite man. The room is small but confortable, a good size and nice bed, altough you can hear the guest on the other room, the place was silent at night. The breakfast is, as other have said, only with industrialized food, juice, coffee and tea, and also fruits - its pretty nice and we were able to have a satisfatory breakfast for two on the B&B. The checkout was pretty nice, as they let us leave our luggages on the hotel until we had to leave the city. Location is awesome, in the hard to the historic center, couldnt be better. I reccomend the place, but would rather have booked the room with external private bathroom, which is bigger.

LithuaniaComplicated check-in process. We couldn't find exact door to the apartment, the signs were only outside. Good thing some other couple let us in. Didn't receive any info on how to check in either. Host was waiting for us, however, didnt really speak English, so that did not help either. The breakfast included is only some packets of dry, sweet food - cookies, croissants, cakes. No hot food.

ItalyI had not understood (presumably my fault) that breakfast, included in the price, would not be served. An abundant selection of packaged snacks, both sweet and savoury, were prepared ready for guests, together with a coffee machine and a fridge with water and soft drinks, but I went to the bar nearby to have a proper breakfast.
Casa Esvael is a converted private home, in a dignified building in a street containing palazzi of great architectural value. It is comfortable and elegant, with antique furniture, but a splendidly modern bathroom. The gentleman (I presume the owner) who met me on arrival was very courteous.

Belgium-
This place definitely exceeded our expectations. The room is artsy, big, and comfortable - I particularly enjoyed the comfy bed and pillows. The hosts were very flexible and allowed for late check out - they waited for us, gave us a tour, and explained everything - even recommended a restaurant and helped with a good iron. You get free snacks, a cute terrace, and a large, very clean bathroom. There's a common living room-style area, which is such a nice touch. I can imagine how this location (as a whole) would be an excellent fit for a group. You need to exit the room to access the bathroom, but it didn't bother us one bit. The location is amazing - 3 minutes walk from the arena.
