Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Great location. Ideally situated next to Sant Antonio Basilica. Spacious comfortable room. Snacks available in the common area. The host is very kind and helpful. She proposed to give information about Padua and could indicate a free parking area (we were lucky enough to find a free space there.) Good bakery and restaurants very near. Every 3rd Sunday of the month there is the Antiques market very near to Ciao Amore.

The only downside was the shower drain, as the water didn’t flow down properly, causing some pooling.
I loved the perfect location, which made it easy to explore the city. The room was comfortable, clean, and tastefully designed. The staff was very friendly.

I was hoping to have more contact with staff and other guests. We were nicely greeted and given info by the staff but never saw them again after that.
We were very comfortable in our room and I loved the location, a bit away from the fray but a short walk over a beautiful bridge from the center.

Very convenient location, host was extremely helpful and kind, room and building were clean and quality. Quiet at night, we slept fantastic with the shutters closed to block out the 5am sunrise.

Different from a Hotel. A very large spotlessly clean self contained room with small kitchenette and bathroom within a very large, quiet, private three level house/ apartment very secure for solo travellers. A few steps away from Piazza del Santo with lots of restaurants and Bars nearby. Easy walking to all the main sites and attractions. The host, Verbena was amazing very helpful and caring.

Uncomfortable old box spring and mattress, and although there was a kitchenette attached to the bedroom, there was no table and chairs to enjoy breakfast or a simple meal.

Verbena is a wonderful host with hospitality. It was a very nice welcome in Ciao Amore. Verbena gave a lot of good information about Padova. And Ciao Amore is an amazing, peaceful and lovely palace to stay.

Constant traffic noise from early in the morning even with all windows and shutters closed. We were in room 1 on the first floor next to the street. This would not have been a problem in the 2 rooms at back of the house nor possibly as bad in the 2nd floor room on the front. If not for the noise we would have given it a definite 10 rating
Comfortable large room, nicely preserving features of the old building but contemporary in design. Huge common ground floor area (we think it may have been a shop previously) where you could have coffee/tea and bring snacks in for breakfast. Excellent communication, welcome and help throughout our short stay
