Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandNice quite location high up and away from any town. Nice cozy and clean apartment. Tastefully renovated. Could hike to the sea. Public transport getting back was feasible (only had to walk 1 KM from bus stop). Even had live music on our first night. Host offered us lots of good info on activities and restaurants.

NetherlandsNothing. Wifi was sometimes a challenge, but who needs wifi in such a beautiful environment?
Stunning location, the drive up there was an adventure in itself, but so much worth it! Francesca, the owner, was so friendly and took all the time needed to give us recommendations and explain all the different options to see as much as possible. The apartment was beyond expectations, so beautiful! And the surroundings were so peaceful, we almost didn't want to leave!

PortugalThe location is beautiful, in the middle of nature, with the sound of crickets and a fantastic view. The accommodation, simple and modest, is extremely tasteful and very comfortable. It feels like we are living in a small village. As for Francesca, I can't praise her enough, she couldn't be more friendly, available and helpful.

FranceCasté is an old medieval village located in the mountain, right behind the Cinque Terre. Francesca made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible, taking the time at check in to help us out planning our trip. she has lots of recommendations and tips to avoid tourist traps and make the best out of your stay over there. Francesca also welcomed us with a basket of snacks, olive oil and breakfast stuff which was super nice and helpful for late check in. The apartment was around 35m2, which was fine with a small dog. You don't spend much time inside anyway. It's fully equipped and had a balcony with a stunning view over the mountain. The outside courtyard is super nice and you can enjoy the sun until pretty late in the evening. All guests are greeting each other as it's a small place, which is also nice to meet other fellow travellers. There are many hiking path starting straight from the village to reach cinque terre.

GermanyThe road to the house is at the end narrow, but we have a Jeep Renegade and got through with no problems. If it’s too narrow for your car, no worries you can park below in their carpark and walk up.
Off the beaten path, nice, small apartment which has all the charms of the past. In the apartment we stayed in it still had the flagstone floor, original stone walls and wooden beams. You can enjoy your breakfast and evening wine on the large open terrace outside. The apartment was neat and clean. The kitchen simple but with most things you need for simple cooking. Francesca does things the „old fashioned“ way, which means she greats you at the apartment and gives you all the information and tips you need. Much better than a key box 👍🏻👍🏻. Many thanks for a great stay.

GreeceUnfortunately the location was not as we expected. The road from La Spezia to Caste was very difficult even for an experienced driver, although it is a very short distance. Also, as far as the rooms are concerned, because they are in a traditional old building, you could hear noisy neighbors all day long...
The host was very nice, helpful and ready to answer everything about info on the area around. The building was traditional and the room was very cosy and brings you to another era in the past. Very clean and had everything one should need during his/her stay there.

GermanyWe had such a lovely stay at Corte Paganini! Francesca and her husband put a lot of love in their apartments. It’s very clean, you have everything you need and the atmosphere is just overall very charming. There is a fire pit in the courtyard which is really cozy. The view above the mountains is great, especially as you explore Cinque Terre during the busy months, it can be a relief to be just 10-15 minutes outside the city, enjoy the peace and quiet yet still be super close to the city. The drive up to the house seems adventurous at first but is completely fine. We would definitely love to come back! We also got great recommendations from Francesca and her husband for things to do. Thank you a lot for everything :)

AustriaNothing. We just missed to have more days so we could have explored the area and enjoy the appartment a little more.
The complex is a rural cozy house with multiple appartments in Caste, a small and quiet village located 15 minutes from La Spezia and it's a perfect hub to explore the region. The house is a tipical rural house with a courtyard where one can sit and relax or eat at some of the tables thez have with fantastic views to the mountains. The appartment was very comfortable. It had everything we needed and we felt very much like at home. The kitchen was very well equipped to cook your own food. Francesca and Carlo, the owners were super friendly. They welcomed us with a bottle of local wine produced in the area, some snacks, milk, coffee and few other gifts and gave us all the turisic information one needs to know. Our kids loved the place too and they had great fun playing with other kids staying there. We also spent some time walking around the house, collecting blackberries and exploring the nature. We got to see wild boars, a fox and strange spiders. We highly recommend this place.
