Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe hotel is wonderful!!! So cute and quaint but fully loaded and stocked with everything you might need, and whatever will make you feel at home there. The staff, especially Caterina, were sooo incredibly helpful and soooo friendly and pleasant! She made it so easy to find our way around Florence-- explained bus passes, showed us bus routes and stops, directions, etc. We walked into the city center each day and it took no time at all and was an easy and beautiful walk along the river--- cannot wait to visit Florence and the Hotel David again!

RomaniaAn excellent looking place, with very welcoming and friendly staff. The whole hotel has an old rustic look, but modern facilities, a perfect vibe for a trip to Firenze. From the reception, to the breakfast, it's clear that your enjoyment is the focus of the hotel's staff. Will definitely re-book when we make another trip to Firenze.

I wish we could have stayed longer. Special thank you to the owner and his family for all the help they provided.

Hotel David is most cosy place, with great living room and coffees, teas and biscuits, in our long experience as a tourists. Really superb!

TurkeyWe had the most amazing accommodation experience at Hotel David! The staff were incredibly polite and attentive, going above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The hotel offers thoughtful perks like free snacks and drinks every day, and their complimentary happy hour, including prosecco, beer, and wine, was an absolute delight. The beautiful garden was a charming place to relax, adding to the overall peaceful vibe. Every detail of our stay was impeccable. If you're visiting Florence, I cannot recommend Hotel David enough—it was truly one of the best stays we've ever had! While it’s not right in the city center, it’s definitely worth the 15-minute walk, and there’s a convenient bus if you prefer not to walk. Highly recommend!

IsraelWe had problems with the wifi during our entire stay - for some reason, our phones skipped the sign in process so it didn't work. The person at the front desk got their IT person to help, but the problem returned once we left and came back to the hotel. I understand that this is a rare problem and happened to others once or twice before, but for us it was a (minor) headache.
This is a quirky and lovingly tended hotel with meticulous eye to detail. The room was lovely, the bed big and comfortable. I loved their attention to the environment: they have a water bottle refiller (water AND soda), no slippers, which they claim are the biggest environmental waste in hotels, biodegradable paper cups, etc. Breakfast was ample, and thank you to the cheery and efficient breakfast server who always remembered what coffee we each prefer. The lobby is cosy and the receptionists were unfailingly helpful with all of our questions. We liked the distance to city center because the center was packed with holiday travellers and this was a much quieter spot. As mentioned in other reviews, busses take you straight to the city center in no time at all if you don't want to walk both ways.

SpainThat we weren’t able to avoid some of the greedy guests.
The funny photo of the reception people reflects the whole attitude of this lovely little hotel situated conveniently outside the noisy busy Old City. Everything is done to maximise our comfort and enjoyment from the multilingual staff, the excellent maps, the helpful advice, bus tickets, bottles of water in the room, free tea and coffee 24/7 and of course the Happy Hour. It was a shame to see guests abusing the hospitality by loading up trays of snacks and drinks to carry back to their rooms but the staff just smiled and shrugged. As they did at breakfast when certain guests loaded their one plate with eggs, bacon, fruit, croissants, donuts, cheese, cold meats and then left most of it.

United StatesThe only issue was we placed the do not disturb sign on the door. We didn't need service since we were there for only two days, however, when we came back to the room, the sign was removed from outside and placed back inside the door. The room was tidied and some things were moved around. We truly expected the sign to be honored.
Everything about the hotel was lovely. The room was a nice size. It was clean and smelled fresh. The decor was warm and inviting. The staff was warm and friendly and even provided a complimentary bottle of prosecco for my birthday, which was lovely. Breakfast was provided and it was plentiful. Happy hour each evening was a nice way to unwind and relax from the day's activities. Overall we loved the stay and would definitely return.

United KingdomThere's nothing not to like. Hotel is a little far out from the city centre but close to plenty of restaurants, bars and on a main bus route. Plus the walk into town is lovely along the river, and if your OK with steps and hills, there's a stunning gardens and hilltop view half way, with a copy of David at the top. Well worth the extra steps.
Absolutely everything. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. I have to write a slightly longer review than usual as it was that good! The staff were exceptional, and very helpful with anything we needed to know, whether it was which bus service to take into the city centre, or which restaurants were within walking distance. They'd even book reservations if needed and we could buy bus tickets from them too. Rooms were clean and comfortable, the shower was perfect, the soaps & shampoo in the room dispensers smelled amazing and were locally made, and the included breakfast was lovely every morning (and the lady servingus was lovely too). And on top of all this amazing service, they do a 'Happy Hour' between 18:30 and 20:00, where they offer free wine, drinks and nibbles (including small slices of pizza and various breads). The complementary refreshments are great too. There is free coffee and water available 24hrs, up to three drinks a day for free and an 'honesty sheet' for any of the premium or additional drinks and snacks, costing only £2 each but they simply check the list and add it to your room bill. Probably one of the best stays we've had at a hotel, anywhere! Will definitely go again.
