Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I didn’t like that the heating was on and it was so hot in the room that we had to open the windows and keep them all night open

1) There was no cupboard in the room. Only a rack for hanging clothes. 2) there weren’t soap plates in the bathroom. 3) had to ask reception for blow dryer. 4) air conditioning was noisy and sometimes didn’t work properly.
The location. It was safe, clean and quiet. The staff was helpful.

Our air conditioning had two settings: infernal heat or off. Staff couldn’t fix it. Fortunately it was not an unpleasant temperature so turning it off was fine.
A good location close to San Marco. Comfy and clean rooms.

The sink in the bathroom has had some kind of damage and instead of replacing the whole sink the patched it up with some kind of plaster rubber, and the water temperature of the shower wasn't always very hot. Also when showering in our room, there were only like two glass panels to shield the water and it was very awkward to shower in it because it was very narrow and the water kept dripping on the floor, so the floor got rather wet near the bath tub
The location was very good, it's in the "glamorous shops" section where all the shops like Gucci, Armani and co. are located, and it was very local anyway, very cool. The room was good, excellent room service. The breakfast had a moderate selection, but it was very delicious

Very strong central heat so you can't control your room temperature without opening your window... which unfortunately in November caused us to get bit up by mosquitoes on night 1

Pillows were very hard.
Loved our stay in Venice. Hotel was perfect for an overnight stay. Room was comfortable and staff were great. Location was good we just needed to stay longer so we could have explored further.

I couldn't get a cup of coffee without paying for an entire breakfast. I've never been to a hotel that won't give their guest a free cup of coffee in the morning
It was nice . It wasn't fantastic. Bed was comfy it was clean . Staff were not so friendly.

Be warned there’s no air con and the heating was a bit too intense for us even in November. Travelling to the hotel from the train station / bus stop is not the easiest, but that’s Venice as well.
Clean and comfortable, ample space in the middle of the high fashion shopping street if you’re into that.

The first day I sat at the breakfast lounge but didn’t have breakfast just my friend had breakfast. The second time I was not allow to sit with my friend. They need to follow the rules from the start very confusing. Also one staff member let us get ice from the machine on the first floor. The second night they said we have to ask for it. Very confusing.

The pillows were very hard unfortunately and the shower facilities could have been improved. The bathroom was a wet room, but the shower screens were difficult to position to stop the bathroom from getting wet.
The hotel was in a very nice location near Piazza San Marco so it was easy to walk to the different landmarks in the area. It was tucked into a small alley so it was also nice and quiet. The hotel also allowed us to store our luggage after check out which was useful. They were also helpful in advising which water bus to get in order to get to the airport. On our second night, they provided us with an additional duvet without asking due to the cold weather which was greatly appreciated.

Didn’t have Apple Pay my only way of paying for breakfast as had stolen cards. Shower was feeble. No kettle in room but provided hot water.
The location was very good. Arrived having just lost my purse and cards to pickpocket. Allowed me to charge phone before checking in. Breakfast was good. Provided hot water for tea.

The older gentleman who checked us in was very unpleasant. I told him we were a group of three, and he started shouting that he could see there were more of us. However, the people behind me were not part of our group. Not the best first impression. Overall, his rude behavior continued throughout the interaction.

The beds are very narrow, so if you toss and turn in your sleep you won't get a good night's rest. There were no soap and toilet paper holders in the bathroom. The cappuccino is made with UHT milk, which is strongly felt.
Excellent location, clean, quiet, peaceful room. Good breakfast.

Breakfast room was a little small...could be a bit bigger. Bedroom & bathroom...size was great
Breakfast was very good...offered everything we needed. Cappuccino was Excellent & Yoghurt too. Location was nice...a little cramped...but we couldn't sit outside as the weather was a little cool.
