Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThere's steps - it comes with the location. Watch out for the bus times, there are some longer waits at certain times. We paid for a taxi back rather than wait.
The hotel cascades down the hillside with a wonderful view over the nearby coast and the mediterranean making for amazing mornings and evenings. Good breakfast, with that same wonderful view. The local bus service made getting down into the village quick and stress free. Plenty of parking available.

FranceThe hotel is quite noisy, making it difficult to sleep in if you want to rest longer in the morning. The property is a bit outdated, and unfortunately, it is not very well served by public transport. We had planned to take the 4 p.m. bus from Riomaggiore to return, but it was full, and the next one wasn’t until 6 p.m. As a result, we had to take a taxi, which cost us an additional 20€. (If you have knee problems, be aware that everything is accessible only by stairs).
The hotel had a breathtaking view, and the staff was very friendly as well.

Beautiful accommodations. They were spacious and clean with spectacular views and a seating area for the 8 of us to gather. It was convenient to the bus to get to the center of town. Breakfast was very delicious. The only downside, like all of our stays in Italy, is that the beds and pillows are too hard for our liking.

RomaniaThe building is a bit aged and not well maintained, you might get unwanted odours from the bathroom and some doors might be a bit annoying.
Well located, bus nearby, great view, great breakfast, a relatively big parking that is free, the bed was comfortable and the people at the reception were very nice and helpful. We loved our stay and we recommend this place.

United StatesThe echoing hallways created alot of noise that woke me up in my room.
It was a beautiful setting with staff who were exceptionally helpful. Every room had a view of the sea and there was a great outdoor patio areathat was relaxing in the evening. The free shuttle to and from the train station was great!

AustraliaProperty is outdated or at least our room. The balcony door drags when you open it and it’s loud. No kettle or fridge in the room. No lift, so in case you have heavy luggage or have trouble walking, perhaps you can request a room above the restaurant or at least one floor down.
Location is ideal away from the crowd of cinque Terre. The view of the Ligurian sea from our room is spectacular! You can take the shuttle bus to take you to Riomagiorre and back, just right in front of the hotel and costs €2,50 per person per way. You can take the train from Riomaggioree and visit all villages if you like. Restaurant is only open during breakfast. If you wish to have dinner, you’ll have to go to Riomaggiore or La Spezia.. David was very accommodating with our questions.

GermanyIt is a Place with a lot of Potential. The Location is Right before Cinque terre, but aside of all the trouble. It is only 15min by Bus to go there, however the Bus does Not Drive all the day. The accomodation is quite old, but it is clean. Some more decorations would increase the wellbeing a lot. The breakfast includes bread, cereals, yoghurt and fruits!

GermanyBeautiful view and big terrace! We really liked it. The staff was friendly and very helpful and the breakfast was also good! Also nice that you can park your car there easily for free. You could get also very easy to the next city Riomaggiore by bus. Bus stop was right in front of the hotel.

BelgiumGoogle maps was sending us to another location, 6 km from the right spot. We did just copy the address as mentioned on the booking.com website. The staff was friendly to guide us, but we did have to make an international expensive call, while I expect them to provide the correct coordinates or a good road description in their communication towards customers.
Fantastic views, nice airconditioned rooms. Helpful staff.

AustraliaThe rooms were so loud- you could hear everyone that was in any hallway and it sounded like they were all yelling. Hotel is also about a 10 minute bus trip (you cant walk as its ALL hills). The bus came every hour or so, we found ourselves planning our whole days around when buses could pick us up/ drop off to town. Would have stayed in town if we knew the bus came so little.
Staff were lovely. Breakfast was ok for price.

AustraliaHotel Gemelli offers an exceptional experience with its amazing views, great breakfast, and super helpful staff. The only downside is its location, which is a bit far from the town center. However, the overall quality and hospitality make it a worthwhile stay.
