Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The picture is not what I got. The place was very clean and comfortable but there was a loft room with beams and very low sealing and small shower. If you have large luggage, not to much space to put them
Location was amazing you can walk to almost all the main attractions and restaurants down the street. The hosts where very attentive. They helped us with everything we needed or asked. I would message and get a reply asap. We got lost and they helped us.

Having to provide personal details online prior to arrival. We were worried about identity theft. Not being provided with information about how to use the heating upon arrival. Being asked to give a 10/10 rating fur the property. I would still recommend this property to others.

I can’t think of anything
The location was amazing. Walking distance to all Vatican, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, great restaurants and more. Very spacious and comfortable. Manage was also so accommodating, caring and nice.

The bathtub/shower situation is a bit awkward if you are traveling with kids and the hot water runs out quickly, with pretty low water pressure. The kitchen is awkward. However, these issues were minor.
The location was absolutely brilliant! The apartment is spacious and well presented. We really enjoyed our time here and felt that our needs for 3 nights in Rome were well met.

nothing to dislike. would have been a 10 and not a 9 if the shower hose in our bathroom did not leak when used, this was the hand attachment and not the main shower head, but not the end of the world just a little messy
very roomy, large bedrooms, plenty of storage. ideally situated for the colloseum and other places of interest. good central area for travelling around Rome. within walking distance of plenty of restaurants and bars. excellent communication with hosts who were always quick to reply to any queries. Alla in particular was extremely helpful

Not enough toilet paper provided and the advertised free toiletries were just hand soap. The photos provided by Booking.com were of a different but similar apartment. The double locking code for the door to the apartment sometimes took a couple of goes to work…

It was very central and close to a lot of restaurants, shops and places worth visiting. The owner was very friendly and helpful we felt very comfortable in our stay.

The apartment was randomly assigned. Only after the reservation was made were you informed of where your apartment was. It was a gamble.
The apartment was right off of a main street so public transit was very accessible and all the main sights were nearby.

Fab location and excellent hosts who were always on hand for questions. Some great restaurants on the same road and so useful to be close to the Metro. Apartment has everything you need.

Couch wasn't very comfortable. But spent most of the time out. Rome was HOT 100° but the room was cool.... Couldn't use the nice one upper roof top patio because of the heat.
Close to shops, food and fun. Explore the side streets to the west lots of shops and restaurants.

Outside in the court yard could have had a table and chairs as it’s a lovely space.
The property was clean and functional, we asked for extra sheets and pillars and they were delivered in no time. Good location.

The shower upstairs was tiny and upstairs was hot. Also could not find a tea towel to dry dishes with. Also a bit of confusion in how to get out of the gate and building.
The location was amazing! Great to have air conditioning and the ability to store food and cook.

Kitchen lacked a few items, but owner says he will remedy this for future guests
Location was very good for central area. Transport and local shops and restaurants nearby Accomodation was comfortable and very quiet.
