Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ChinaIt would be perfect if the shower room was a little bigger
It has a large terrace with a great view of the church and the volcano. The staff is very welcoming. The room is very clean. The location is also very good, it only takes ten minutes to walk to Parco Archeologico di Pompei.

United StatesThe bathroom. The shower was tiny and in the middle of the room with two curtains around it. Impossible to shower without getting everything wet but there's no drain in the floor. Not enough furniture in the room. It was raining a lot when we got there and we couldn't use the outside area so there's no place to sit except for the bed. It was quite noisy outside with tons of honking traffic right below us for most of the day and into the night. Not sure if it was because of a detour or if it's normal.
Amazing view and good location, close to Pompeii entrances and the local train line. Comfortable bed. Great communication and responsiveness. Mini fridge with water. Lovely, large terrace with places to sit and views of Vesuvius. It's a 3rd floor walk up but worth it for the views.

United StatesIt would’ve been nice to have shampoo, soap and extra towels provided but not a deal breaker at all!
Gianfranco is so accommodating, friendly, and welcoming!! He even carried my suitcase up the stairs when checking us in. This place is INCREDIBLE!! Super centrally located but off of a quiet street that means no loud noises keeping you up. GORGEOUS view from the massive private terrace. I thought it would be a shared terrace from the posting, but it is only for this room which means it’s even better! The room is nicely decorated, very clean & super affordable. We loved it & wish we could’ve stayed longer!

United StatesDon’t expect luxurious accommodations but practical and near everything. Guests must be aware that it’s a few flights of stairs with no elevator and narrow space towards the top. You do end up at the top of the building which is worth it but not so easy if you are loaded with heavy luggage.
Such a good find near the main pedestrian avenues and the Pompei ruins. The views from the balcony are phenomenal. The manager, friendly and resourceful.

United KingdomThe shower is a little basic, and hot water is not unlimited at certain times of day, but we found this a minor factor for two people. If you're not very mobile, you might find the 3 flights of stairs tricky, especially the last stage, which is more like fire stairs. We thought it was well worth it since it means you get the roof terrace. Watch out for the train stations! There are several in Pompei. One of them is very close (Pompei Santuario). Google maps somehow seems to let you down all the time and timetables are unreliable. It's a significant walk from the wrong station if it's dark or hot and you have bags. Announcements and signs in/on stations are often unclear or missing. We did manage to navigate them, but planning or a sense of humour is required. I found this on TripAdvisor... 'Pompei' on the FS line is the mainline station, for the modern town, but there are other stations on the 'Circumvesuviana' Line - which is the private railway that travels around Vesuvius from Naples. There is a station on this Circumvesuviana line called 'Pompei Santuario' which is in the part of the modern town near the Basilica of Our Lady of Pompei, a famous Marian Shrine to which many people make pilgrimages. There are two further stations on the Circumvesuviana line for Pompei. As you said, 'Pompei Scavi' (Pompei digs/ruins) which is where the majority of tourists head for as they're doing a day trip to visit the ancient city ruins which are alongside the modern town, not in it. And there's 'Pompei Villa dei Misteri', which is one of the villa ruins out of the centre of town and away from the main ruins.
Fantastic location. Walking distance (15 mins) from the ruins, overlooked by the cathedral on one side and Vesuvius from the other. The roof terrace is yours and displays both fantastically. Room is spacious and bright and well thought out. Gianfranco is incredibly helpful (and multilingual) and even came to rescue us from the wrong train! Breakfast is in a separate pavement cafe a few minutes walk away, but this is another authentic Italian experience. Highly recommended!

United KingdomThe balcony is the best thing about this property - amazing views and perfect place to watch the sunset. Only thing to be aware of is the steep stairs up to the room so not ideal for everyone. Gianfranco is great, really helpful with things to do and parking (free parking 2 mins from building). Great location, far enough away from busy ruins but so close to all the great restaurants and bars.
