Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBeds are very uncomfortable. Breakfast isn't worth €5 but they charged €18. While we were waiting to check out at the reception we could see and hear the members of the staff arguing with her manager/boss. I do speak Italian and it wasn't a professional discussion in front of their colleagues and guests.

BrazilFelt judged and looked up and down by every member of the staff, like I didn’t belong there, not sure if it was because I was alone or not “fancy” enough. From the reception to the serving staff at breakfast. Felt very uncomfortable and disrespected. Room was good but very loud, and the cleaning staff was not respectful to it, even talking on the phone shouting in the middle of the hallway, I was actually woken up by that. Very disrespectful.
Great location and room was good for the size and a good bathroom

United StatesWas given the 4th floor room when I arrived and the restaurant was above us, every night and morning the noise of the chairs being moved was over an hour long. Could not get to sleep or sleep in. Staff was not always friendly. Breakfast was awful. Seemed way too expensive for an old hotel with lots of noise.
The location was great seemed to be near most points of interest. Bathrooms and rooms were clean.

GermanyThey tried hard to sell New Years eve packages 500Euro / person for the restaurant and multiple hundred for the bar by forcing folks to purchase what they want. The inflexibility and fraud level of prices made us escape to facilities around, which were treating people more fairly.

SlovakiaThere was nothing which disturbed us, only sometimes the recommendation of nice restaurants with good food was not always the right one.
It was such a perfect stay, people at the reception greeted us with a big smiles at the faces and helped us with each and every request. The panoramic view from window was briliant, we enjoyed the life in the ancient Rome.

SlovakiaI stayed at this hotel for two nights with my two children and my mother. The location is beautiful, but that’s the only positive part of my experience. The hotel is old, and the furniture is in poor condition. In the bathroom, water was leaking near the toilet. The windows didn’t close properly, and we could hear every word from outside. The final straw were the bedside tables, on which heavy stone/marble slabs were just placed. They were not secured to the table in any way. One night, my 3 years old daughter fell off the bed and knocked the table over onto herself. Of course, she broke the slab, but I’m thankful that she wasn’t seriously injured. I reported the incident, of course. The hotel staff were distant, and when we checked out, they charged me an additional 250 euros on top of the accommodation price. I don’t know how they came up with this amount, but they charged it without any confirmation or explanation. Of course, I paid it and hurried to the airport.

CroatiaRoom was small and furniture was dated and ready for change. Takes two elevators to reception desk. Everything looks cheap. Chandeliers are made of plastic. Breakfast was very poor, if you want sunny side eggs you have to pay additionally 8 eur.
Location was absolutely fantastic. Breakfast restaurant ladies staff was very friendly and helpful. American bar waiter was borderline rude.

PeruThey offered breakfast free for genius clients and it was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel over others nearby. However, they never accepted this free charge even If I sent them the screenshot with this offer. I find it really disappointing that a hotel cannot be responsible for what it offers to its customers. I complained to booking.com as well but they stated the decision to accept this free of charge should only be made by the hotel. I could not cancel the reservation, otherwise I would have booked another one.
The location is good, just 7 min walking distance from the Coliseum. The breakfast view is also nice.

AustraliaAs a solo traveller I was dismayed where when, despite the do not disturb on the door a staff member entered the apartment while I was in the shower to drop off laundry. It made me feel uncomfortable. While I was not expecting the rooms to be expansive my room felt like a closet and had very little room to move away in. The beds are uncomfortable for a luxury hotel. While there is a Dyson hairdryer the ammenities leave a lot to be desired - there was no conditioner. Details on the laundry were limited and there wasn’t even conditioner offered. The towels were almost threadbare and not at all luxurious. They did not productive ceramic cups and only paper cups.
Overall I found the stay at this hotel to be disappointing compared to reading the reviews and the ratings found on this site. The location at the Roman Forum is great, and close to a lot of the sites of old Rome. The view from the restaurant terrace is beautiful. Most of the staff overall are lovely and helpful. The hotel was very clean.

Australiathis hotel is an icon, and the price tag reflects it! But, you get the absolute best view of the Roman ruins from the breakfast room on the roof. the breakfast itself is great- caters for all cultural tastes. the location is superb- you can walk to many sights and shopping, great restaurants, museums, and the metro. staggering back from walking kms of cobblestones, you can head for the American bar above the roof restaurant and unwind. great service.
