Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Room was small but perfect for what we needed. The apartment had all the things we needed. Hairdryer could do with an upgrade.
The location was perfect, you could walk to all local attractions. Many good restaurants in just 1-2 minute walk. Taliani was great for breakfast, Black market hall and the flann o’brien were good for evening drinks. The best bit about the stay was Pietro. He allowed us to check in early which was quick and easy as well as giving us tips and recommendations for Rome. He even helped us in the rest of our travels around Naples and Positano!

Perfect location for a few days visiting the city, close to the Colosseum, Roman Forum and main Termini train station. Very friendly and accommodating hosts and the hotel room was very spacious and comfortable.

Property was very clean and near all the landmarks and transportation hubs! Pietro even let us leave our luggage is the kitchen since our flight was at night. Would recommend!

It's a bit hard finding the place, and there isn't a doorbell. You MUST call the property when you reach it to get inside. These instructions should be made clearer when booking.
Location is good. Cost-benefit is wonderful. Staff is kind. Simple and practical.

The room was super clean when we checked in but I feel that they should clean it more frequently during the stay. Furthermore, the towels need to be changed more frequently as well.
Very cosy small room in a great location at the center of Rome. The staff was gentle, friendly and informative.

Walkable from Termini train station (but it's quite a long distance. Clean. Friendly host. Reasonably close to Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps and other central attractions. Trastevere and Vatican further away but we walked everywhere. Good restaurants nearby.

The location was excellent - easy walking distance from the main train station and the surrounding area had lots of great little cafes and restaurants. It was also within easy distance of all the main sites of Rome. The room was very comfortable with the added bonus of a shared sitting and kitchen area.

Great city center location. I felt safe and cosmopolitan staying in the apartment. Restaurants right out on the street. Quiet room with black out shutters. Fantastic stay.

It could have been a bit cleaner. The wi-fi is quite slow.

We loved the theme of the rooms and the property - it was really cool that each room was unique and so spacious, and the common area kitchen and fridge were a handy plus! Pietro also met us at the door and gave us some good suggestions - would recommend as the property is close to a lot of the main tourist attractions as well as walking distance from Termini station.

If you are highly sensitive to noise you should consider other place to stay at since you might get some noise from the other rooms and the kitchen. But not the major problem to me, so I would book again. 😊
The apartment is in the heart of city center in the nice neighbourhood. Host was friendly and gave us info about places to go and dine at.
