Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesI would have given this hotel an excellent rating, but the air conditioning in our room was a BIG issue. When booking the room, I specifically booked it because of the location & air conditioning. My Mother is elderly so air conditioning is a must. The stairs posed a problem too, but she managed. I was asked to provide my estimated check in time which I did. When we showed up and the kind gentlemen checked us into our room it was like a oven! Not warm or hot...I mean a oven...like sitting in a sauna!! So unbearably HOT!!!! They did not start the air conditioning before our arrival so it took hours and hours to try and cool the rooms down. He started the air conditioning system, but was doing nothing. He then brought up 2 portable air conditioning machines to assist with the cooling system. We had to continuously fill the machine with cold water & ice packs. We were absolutely miserable and had to sleep naked to stay cool. We were super upset when we went out walking one of the days and when we returned someone turned off all of the air conditioning systems and the room returned to being unbearably hot! My Mother is elderly and was just so uncomfortable. We all were. We totally understand that electricity is expensive in Italy, but the hotel should provide that for guests no matter what. Turning it off while we were gone was unacceptable. It was truly miserable. Otherwise, the property was excellent. I just need to make other customers aware of this in case you are visiting in July or are just sensitive to high temperatures and prefer your room to be cool.
The location is perfect! The hotel is located on the main street where you can walk to all the shops, restaurants, churches, grocery store. The courtyard is beautiful and the breakfast service is just lovely. Eggs, toast, croissants, yogurt, fruit & caffe. Our room was located off of the courtyard. Please be prepared for steps and carrying your luggage up those steps. No elevator for elderly. Please be advised that if there is a function in the courtyard those can go until 1AM if you are sensitive to noise. It didn't bother us though. Rooms were spacious for 3 people.

United StatesWe loved everything!
Our stay at Grancia dei Celestini in Sulmona, Italy, was a delightful blend of history, comfort, and exceptional breakfasts. This charming bed and breakfast captured our hearts with its enchanting location and rich historical significance. The historical significance of Grancia dei Celestini added an extra layer of intrigue to our stay. Learning about its origins as a medieval granary and its transformation into a welcoming B&B was a fascinating experience. The preservation of its unique architecture and the incorporation of historical elements into the decor made our stay feel like a journey through time. However, we would have loved to see more detailed information about the building's history on display within the B&B. Nestled in the heart of Sulmona, Grancia dei Celestini boasts an unbeatable location. Set against the backdrop of the stunning Apennine Mountains, this ancient monastery-turned-hotel offers a sense of serenity that is hard to find elsewhere. The cobblestone streets and historic buildings of Sulmona are right at your doorstep, making it the perfect base for exploring the town's rich history and culture. We found it incredibly convenient to explore Sulmona's attractions, shops, and restaurants, all within walking distance.

Breakfast was devine with many options of fresh fruit, pastries, cheeses, yogurt, made to order eggs, etc. Other meals and wine served were fabulous. Owner is very accommodating and pleasant. Beautiful courtyard growing fresh herbs and flowers. Location is perfect! Very close to town center/piazza, but far enough to be very quiet and peaceful. Second time in Sulmona and second time staying here. We'll return over and over! We stayed on second floor; there is no elevator.

Old monastry at the Corso Ovidio, the best place to be in Sulmona, and a very nice breakfast (the kind you'll rarely find getting into the south of Italy).

NetherlandsAs in many old buildings with thick walls, wifi reach is a challenge
We were very happy to have picked Grancia dei Celestini for our 4 day stay in Sulmona. It is a lovely city and a good base to explore Abruzzen (although when we were here, there was lots of rainy weather and low hanging clouds so we could only see places below 900 meters). Antonio is a good host. Our room (the large 2-room one at the front of the building, with balcony) was very clean, comfortable, and decorated with attention to period and detail. Breakfast was served at the table and was ample - including freshly made eggs.

The B&B is located in a very ancient building of a former monastery with the entrance in the cloister. The breakfast is served in a very beautiful and inspiring space. The breakfast was excellent as well as the dinner aperitif in the cloister.

United KingdomThe bathroom floor had stains on it and one of the lightbulbs in the room was out (another one was broken). It didn’t affect my stay as I was only there for one night.
Lovely little Grancia near the Porta Napoli, full of character and maintained traditional decor. I stayed in a room with a balcony looking out into the street, enjoying the sounds of Sulmona life. Breakfast was exceptional, prepared and served with care and attention to detail.

AustraliaMy room had no windows, the room itself was in a small attic, but the worst part was the smell of cigarette smoke in my room. It was unbearable. When I arrived and during the first part of my stay I was the only guest, and then I believe there were two other rooms occupied by other guests. I wonder if there were no other rooms available for me other than that one. I should have complained when I first saw the room.
With the exception of my room, the place was nice.
