Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

lovely view, great breakfast and very welcoming and accommodating hostess. The underfloor heating was very welcome on a chilly evening in November and the space in the room generous.

United KingdomThere was nothing about the property that we did not like. You would need a car because of its location but it is the location that makes this place incredible and it’s only a short drive up from Malcesine
The best way to describe Monika’s place is just WOW! What an incredible find! We hired a car from the airport and on the drive up to the guesthouse the views were just stunning and getting better the higher we climbed but when we arrived the views from there are amazing! Monika really does have a beautiful spot! The breakfast dining room has huge glass windows so you feel immersed in the beauty of the area while eating in there. It’s just breathtaking! As for the breakfast itself it was a buffet style with plenty of choice to suit all tastes or if you’re good eaters like us there was plenty to keep going back for seconds and thirds! All delicious and very typical of continental style. Monika also cooked us fresh eggs every morning however we liked them cooked. There were a selection of fresh juices or coffee and tea, which was English breakfast tea so a thumbs up from us for that too. Our room was beautifully decorated, very clean, modern and tasteful, our en-suite was large, very clean with a powerful shower and piping hot water. White towels provided for the en-suite and pool towel’s provided as well, and there was a hairdryer too. We had a balcony looking out towards the lake and wow what a view to wake up to every morning! Monika is the friendliest person, she is always smiling and happy and would go the extra mile to make sure we were enjoying our stay. She is fluent in a good number of languages (I think someone said 6), so communication is easy and she’s very helpful with her knowledge of the area. There is a lovely infinity pool with stunning views, loungers around and a cosy outside seating area too. We spent a lot of time out and about sightseeing. There’s plenty to see around the area and having a car gave us the freedom to explore. We would definitely stay at Monika’s again. We couldn’t fault it in any way, in fact it way exceeded our expectations. You will not regret booking to stay here it’s superb

United KingdomWe travelled from Trieste the night before so we struggled to make the 6pm cut off for check in and so did another guest. Monika left our key out for us but an option for later check-in would have been cheaper and less stress for us (we got a taxi from quite a long way away to make the time)! A slightly later check-out time would also be amazing to maybe sneak in a cheeky morning swim!
Everything!! Monika was so friendly, we loved playing with the dog, lounging by the pool and chatting with the other guests who were also very nice (I think Monika has this welcoming influence on the dynamics between all her guests!). The breakfast was amazing and guests are free to use the coffee machine and have desserts from the kitchen after the hosts go home at 6pm. We loved having a coffee machine and a fridge in the room as well as the toiletries provided. The outside spaces were gorgeous, with so many places to rest and enjoy the view, and we felt we had privacy as well as being able to see others if we wanted to. The views were amazing obviously. Monika had a helpful map for us in the room and suggested nearby places to eat that were lovely!! Our beds were comfy, with enough pillows and nice sheets.

Grand Views, perfectly clean and well maintained facilities with a super friendly host. The location is a little paradise up the hills of busy Lake Garda. The breakfast has something for every taste. Monika mixes drinks by the pool ans also helps out with suggestions for dinner. what a dream!

United KingdomUnfortunately had a twin bed instead of a double but considering we booked very last minute this was understandable and we were just happy we got a room. The road to the hotel and parking was extremely steep and difficult in a van but this can't be helped with the amazing location. Generally just sad we couldn't stay longer!
Everything! The room was lovely with comfortable beds, amazing rainfall shower, stunning terrace with sun umbrella, automated blinds, coffee machine, beach towels. The pool area was gorgeous with an amazing infinity pool, garden area and various different sun loungers to enjoy the amazing view of the lake. Lovely dog and staff. Good selection for breakfast including overnight oats, granola, fresh fruit, eggs cooked to your liking, pastries and fresh coffee. Definitely advise a car as although not far from the lake and town it is very up in the hillside.

AustraliaMy partner and I hired a car from Bologna and drove to Malcesine (you will need a car) before heading across to Venice and then down to Tuscany. Malcesine is a hidden gem, the drive down to the lake was spectacular. Our stay at Guesthouse Grandview was magical. The property is higher up and the view of the lake was absolutely breathtaking. Monika, the host of the property was super friendly and helpful with many recommendations on where to visit, eat and swim - we truly felt part of the family with the level of hospitality that was provided from all the staff including the resident dog! The room and property were kept in pristine condition and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay including free parking. If you don’t feel like a drive down to the town there are a couple of restaurants within walking distance (which were amazing) otherwise a drive down to the picturesque town only takes about 15 minutes or so where there is a supermarket, as well as many shops and restaurants to explore on the lake. Highly recommend booking this property and exploring what Lake Di Garda has to offer - a must add to your Italian road trip holiday! Thank you Monika, we look forward to returning in the future - Andrea & Pana.

Absolutely everything, view, breakfast and pool were all perfect. Monika was such a welcoming host and all of her staff were so nice! We did not have a car with us so had to walk down to the town for the evening which was no problem for us. You can get a 15/20 euro taxi back up or walk back up which is quite a hike but once you're at the accomodation you completely forget the walk when you're swimming in the pool. The room was so much better than the pictures and waking up to the mountain view every morning is an unforgettable experience. Thanks again and we will hopefully be back.

United KingdomNothing really. A hire car is advised but if you’re able bodied then it is about a half an walk into town (Malcesine) which we did a couple of times when we wanted a drink. A taxi cost €20 if not.
This is a great base to stay and visit Lake Garda. You’re immediately made to feel welcome by the host, Monika & her team who could not have been any more friendly or helpful during our 5 day stay. The room was tastefully decorated and the bed was super comfy. The room including bedding was cleaned & changed everyday which was a pleasant surprise (5 star treatment) We loved the breakfasts - a wide selection for everyone including fresh eggs cooked to your preference. All served overlooking the great lake & mountain views and pool area. If you’re not out and about visiting picturesque lakeside villages, then the pool area is the perfect placed to relax and unwind. Special mention to Xena (the resident dog) who is adorable and is always happy to see you. We would definitely recommend this place to friends & family. Thank you for everything guys!!
